  • Publication number: 20100286491
Abstract: A biomedical sensor device includes a light source, a probe array, and a photo detector. The light source is configured for emitting infrared radiation. The probe array is contacted to a user's skin to detect an electric wave signal transmitted through the probe array from the skin. The probe array includes a substrate and a plurality of probes mounted on the substrate, wherein the substrate and the probes are non-opaque so that the infrared radiation may be transmitted through the probe array into the skin. The photo detector is configured to detect an infrared signal by measuring the infrared radiation absorption by the skin.

  • Patent number: 6056578
Abstract: A universal serial bus connector including a male and a female connector. The male connector has elastic hooking means fixed to two sides of its casing. The hooking means each has a front hook and an outward projected elastic rear push portion. The female connector has outward extended retaining tabs provided at two edges of its each insertion hole corresponding to the hooks of the hooking means on the male connector. When the male connector is inserted into the female connector with the rear push portions of the hooking means inward pressed, the hooks may be located beyond the retaining tabs on the female connector. When the push portions of the hooking means are released, the hooks of the hooking means elastically shift inward to engage with said retaining tabs and cause the male connector to be firmly connected to the female connector without easily disengaging from the latter.

  • Patent number: 5552208
Abstract: An article made from at least one network of high strength fibers and a matrix composition that includes a vinyl ester and diallyl phthalate. Preferably, the article is made from at least one prepreg element which includes at least two adjacent layers of the high strength fiber network in the vinyl ester-containing matrix composition. The prepreg element is made by applying a mixture of vinyl ester, diallyl phthalate and a carbon-carbon saturated solvent to the high strength fiber network.

  • Patent number: 5354605
Abstract: An article which includes at least one layer of a network of high strength fibers, preferably extended chain polyethylene fibers. The fibers of the network are coated with a very low modulus elastomeric matrix material, preferably an acrylic ester copolymer, which has a tensile modulus of less than about 100 psi, a tenacity of less than 450 psi (3105 kPa), a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of about -10.degree. C. to about -20.degree. C., and an elongation-to-break of at least about 2000%. The article can further include a second matrix material, preferably made of polyethylene, adjacent to the fiber network layer.

  • Patent number: 3937755
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate block copolyesters having ethylene terephthalate blocks and hydantoin polymer blocks for improved disperse dyeability and improved antistatic properties. The copolyesters are prepared by conventional methods using blocks of low molecular weight polyethylene terephthalate and hydantoin polyester.
