  • Publication number: 20080060685
Abstract: Methods and systems for cleaning articles include a vessel into which the article is disposed and accompanying equipment associated with a fluid source to deliver pulses of dense phase gas to the vessel. Cleaning of the articles occurs by removing debris from the surfaces of the articles and/or by inactivating microorganisms on the articles. Repeating inflow and outflow cycles of the dense phase gas into and from the vessel during a cleaning operation improves the cleaning.

  • Publication number: 20080026498
Abstract: A method for fabricating a light emitting diode (LED) package comprising providing an LED chip and covering at least part of the LED chip with a liquid encapsulant having a radius of curvature. An optical element is provided having a bottom surface with at least a portion having a radius of curvature larger than the liquid encapsulant. The larger radius of curvature portion of the optical element is brought into contact with the liquid encapsulant. The optical element is then moved closer to the LED chip, growing the contact area between said optical element and said liquid encapsulant. The liquid encapsulant is then cured. A light emitting diode comprising a substrate with an LED chip mounted to it. A meniscus ring is on the substrate around the LED chip with the meniscus ring having a meniscus holding feature.

  • Patent number: 7296151
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are provided for sharing a cached security profile in a database environment. The apparatus, system, and method include a cache module for caching a security profile accessible to primary tasks and secondary tasks. An identification module is provided that distinguishes between primary tasks authorized to refresh the security profile and secondary tasks. A refresh module cooperates with the cache module and identification module to selectively refresh the security profile in response to a refresh request and expiration of the security profile such that an old version of the security profile is retained for use by secondary tasks until an execution window closes.

  • Patent number: 7288607
Abstract: This invention relates to a primer composition having a low VOC content useful in the manufacture of automobiles and trucks in which the film forming binder contains: a) a cycloaliphatic or polycycloaliphatic epoxy compound; b) an alkoxy silane or silicate reactive diluent; and, c) a curing catalyst to catalyze the reaction between (a) and (b). These primers are characterized in that the curing or crosslinking reaction is presumably based, at least in part, on a ring opening polymerization reaction between the epoxy structures of (a) and silanol groups formed on (b) in the presence of atmospheric moisture and acid. Curing chiefly utilizing a ring opening reaction of the forgoing epoxy structures with the forgoing reactive diluents not only avoids volatile compounds from being generated and released into the atmosphere during the curing process, but also keeps the viscosity low enough for practical application such as by spraying.

  • Publication number: 20070231439
Abstract: Processes for maintaining the stability and quality of frozen desserts during storage and transportation, including an improvement. This improvement process involves introducing a gas mixture into the dispersed phase of the frozen dessert. This gas mixture may be a low molecular weight gas mixture or a high molecular weight gas mixture. The weight gas mixture would allow the cells within the frozen dessert to remain at approximately a constant volume during elevation changes, thereby reducing or eliminating shrinkage and transportation settling.

  • Patent number: 7232175
Abstract: A debris deflector to deflect oncoming wind rocks and bugs by diverting the wind which is associated with rocks, bugs, and other debris instead of heading for the hood and windshield of a vehicle, and diverts these nuisances up and away from the vehicle's body. The deflector attaches to the front of a car, truck, sport utility vehicle (SUV), or any other type of vehicle that is prone to oncoming debris. The deflector includes a wing and a pair of pillars connecting the wing to a wind tunnel portion. Air directed through the air passageway formed between the wing and the wind tunnel portion is accelerated and is directed upwardly to deflect debris.

The present invention attaches to the front of a car, truck, sport-utility vehicle (SUV), or any other type of vehicle that is prone to oncoming debris. The present invention is attached and can be affixed to the front of a hood of a vehicle. The present invention has a lower portion (wind tunnel) and an upper portion (wing). The two portions are connected with pillars. Said pillars are of such size as to allow flow of wind between and around pillars. The front opening between wind tunnel and wing is proportionally larger and gradually decreases in width toward the terminus when the wind reaches the rear portion of the wind tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20050266138
Abstract: A low calcium sensitive (calcium stable) high acyl gellan gum is prepared for enhanced colloidal stability in beverages. The low calcium sensitive high acyl gellan gum has superior suspension performance for colloidal stability compared to other high acyl gellan gums. The low calcium sensitive high acyl gellan gum is prepared by adjusting the pH of a gellan fermentation broth (polymer solution) prior to pasteurization and reducing the pasteurization hold time compared to conventional pH levels and hold times.

  • Publication number: 20040047973
Abstract: A method for improving the quality and safety of a cooking oil while extending the working life of the cooking oil includes the steps of applying a non-reactive gas or a non-reactive gas mixture to a cooking oil, with a food residue therein, during the working lifetime of the cooking oil. Thereby, reactions, which degrade the cooking oil, may be inhibited. Furthermore, the formation of acrylamide within or on foods cooking in the oil may be inhibited. An optional step of pre-treating and/or packaging a food product before it is cooked in the cooking oil, whereby oxygen is removed and/or excluded from the food product and/or the ambient of the food product, may enhance the results that can be obtained by the invention. Preferably, the optional pre-treatment and/or packaging step is applied to the food product before it is cooked in the cooking oil. Consequently, the quality of a cooking oil can be maintained and its working life can also be extended.
