  • Publication number: 20160034905
Abstract: A service desk is managed by broadcasting a symptom and a root cause of a customer incident to service desk staff members. In response to receiving input of a service desk staff member, the symptom and the root cause of the customer incident may be stored in a personal knowledge base of the service desk staff member. A personal memory trigger may also be received from the service desk staff member, and the personal memory trigger may also be stored in the personal knowledge base. The personal memory trigger may include free-form text that has meaning to the service desk staff member relative to a given incident. The symptom and root cause of a customer incident may be retrieved from the personal knowledge base of the service desk staff member in response to receiving at least some of the free-form text from the service desk staff member.

  • Publication number: 20150234731
Abstract: Scenario data is accessed for each of a plurality of scenarios, each scenario corresponding to a respective request by a first software component and a response by a second software component to the respective request. The scenario data of each scenario describes the respective requests and responses included in that scenario. A virtual service that corresponds to the second software component is generated from the scenario data for the plurality of scenarios.

  • Publication number: 20150220423
Abstract: Data is identified that represents a path of a transaction that includes a plurality of transaction fragments associated with a plurality of software components. The plurality of software components includes a first software component to communicate in the transaction with a second software component over an interface. A transaction boundary is determined between the first and second software components based at least in part on the data. A virtual model is generated to simulate at least a particular one of the plurality of software components based on the identified transaction boundary.

  • Publication number: 20150212920
Abstract: Data is identified that represents a path of a transaction that includes a plurality of transaction fragments associated with a plurality of software components. The transaction returns a particular value and a particular one of the plurality of software components is identified as a source of the particular value. A test action is generated that, when executed, is to attempt to verify the particular value from the particular software component.

  • Publication number: 20130191534
Abstract: A server migration tool used to construct data center migration scenarios allowing for a user to rapidly manipulate a large number of input parameters required to describe a transformation from one data center configuration to a new data center configuration. The tool then performs the transformation and allows the user to interact with new data center configuration to understand its performance. A novel parameterization, speed independent service demand (SISD), greatly facilitates scaling performance metrics between different hardware platforms.

  • Publication number: 20130185263
Abstract: A system and method provide for a reception of data at a computer processor. The data relates to a dataset in a computer system. The computer processor calculates a weight for the dataset as a function of the data, and the processor executes an action on the dataset as a function of the weight. In an embodiment, the action is a backup of data on the computer system, and through recalculation of the weight over a period of time, the backup schedule, backup media, and other parameters are altered based on the changing weight for a dataset.

  • Publication number: 20130124444
Abstract: A computer system includes a plurality of computer processor dependent nodes and a plurality of computer processor antecedent nodes. Each node includes a severity value relating to an operational state of the node. A dependent node and an antecedent node pair include a significance value relating to a criticality that the antecedent node has to its paired dependent node. The antecedent node comprises a relevance value, wherein the relevance value is a function of the severity value of the antecedent node and the significance value for the antecedent node and the dependent node. The relevance value is used to determine an impact that the antecedent node has on the paired dependent node.

  • Publication number: 20130111569
Abstract: Various embodiments described and illustrated here include one or more of systems, methods, software, and data structures that may be used to implement policies for hardware access and monitoring control in concert with a premises security system that controls ingress and egress of a facility. One embodiment includes identifying when certain devices are removed or decoupled from a computer and preventing one or more users of that computer from leaving a facility within which the computer is located.

  • Publication number: 20130111067
Abstract: Data relating to execution flows at a computer system is aggregated across multiple execution flows by categorizing each execution flow into an execution flow shape. The execution flows may represent sequences of software components that are invoked or other computer system resources that are consumed. The execution flow shapes are developed by observing and recording the execution flows at the computer system and applying lossy compression rules. Execution flows are categorized into an execution flow shape which is a closest match. The execution flow data may be aggregated by an agent at the computer system, and communicated to a manager for subsequent use. The aggregation combines the information from all execution flows into a small enough data set that can be reported without consuming unduly large processing overhead while still preserving as many of the interesting aspects of the execution flows as possible.

  • Publication number: 20130103746
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and computer-readable media are disclosed for facilitating multiple applets of a web page to communicate with a back end server through a common communication channel. According to one aspect, a method is disclosed for communicating data which includes identifying a common communication applet by a plurality of client applets. The method also includes submitting a set or data requests originating from the client applets to the common communication applet. The method further includes accumulating the data requests received from the plurality of client applets. The data requests are encoded and transmitted to a back-end handler. Results from the back end server are received, decoded and delivered to the appropriate client applet.

  • Publication number: 20130046985
Abstract: A key management system includes secured data stored on a first system secured by a control key stored securely on a key server. The secured data is secured against attacks such as unauthorized use, modification or access, where authorization to access the secured data is determined by knowledge of an access private key of an access key pair. When an authorized user is to access the secured data, the first system generates a request to the key server, signed with the access private key, wherein the request is for a decryption control key and the request includes a one-time public key of a key pair generated by the first system for the request. The first system can decrypt the decryption control key from the response, using a one-time private key. The first system can then decrypt the secured data with the decryption control key remaining secured in transport.

  • Publication number: 20130046885
Abstract: A system and method for capacity planning for enterprise networks, such as identifying bottlenecks and removing or replacing the bottleneck device are provided. The device utilization for one or more network devices are measured or read from measured data. A relative load is calculated from the device utilization data and device utilization is compared to a device threshold to determine the bottleneck device. A method is also provided for determining network utilizations, network populations and a relative response times based on only limited measurable device usage data.
