  • Patent number: 5913386
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cushion mechanism for a brake of a bicycle, comprising a brake block, an elastomer, a sleeve, and an adjustable nut. The brake block includes an engaging end which extends through the elastomer and the sleeve and is engaged with the adjustable nut. Then the cushion mechanism is installed on a brake caliper. The cushion mechanism of the brake is constructed to prevent a sudden lock of the wheel upon an emergency brake and such an effect is achieved by mounting an elastomer between the brake block and the brake caliper. The elastomer is preset with pressure while being assembled. The preset pressure enables the elastomer to absorb a less force caused by braking when under normal braking operation; and enables the same elastomer to absorb excess force when the braking force exceeds the normal range. Thus, the braking force will not reduce, and the safety for the rider is secured.

  • Patent number: 5908329
Abstract: An electrical connector having positioning posts is disclosed. The electrical connector comprises a first and a second positioning posts formed on both longitudinal ends of a front surface of an insulating housing for inserting into a pair of holes of a printed circuit board. Each of the first and second positioning posts defines a respective longitudinal direction, and includes a pair of positioning members on both longitudinal ends, a stop bar between the pair of positioning members, and an open slot between each of the positioning members and the stop bar. The width of the positioning post defined by both sides of the stop bar is shorter than the length of the positioning post defined between respective longitudinal outer surfaces of the positioning members.

  • Patent number: 5882211
Abstract: A system (10) for interconnecting two modules (100, 100') to the CPU chip, includes two opposite connectors (12, 14) in a head-to-head arrangement. The traces (200) each of which connects the two corresponding contacts 28/30 and 30'/28' each being located in the same position of the corresponding connector (12, 14), are generally arranged in a parallel relationship. One (12) of the connectors (12, 14) is substantially a standard one which meets the requirements defined in the general specification. The other (14) of the connectors (12, 14) is generally, but not exactly, of a mirror image with regard to the first one (12), wherein the positions of the two-row contacts (28'/30') with regard to the housing (16') along the lengthwise direction of the second connector (14) are arranged in an opposite relationship with regard to those in the first connector (12).

  • Patent number: 5863270
Abstract: A self-contained change speed apparatus for use on a bicycle. It has fixed shaft, a hub body rotatably supported on the fixed shaft, a change speed device controlled to turn the hub body about the fixed shaft at one of a series of speeds, and a power input member adapted to provide driving power, A clutch is moved between an active position and a non-active position and adapted to transmit driving power from the power input member to the change speed device. A control mechanism changes the speed ratio of the change speed device, advances the clutch to the non-active position before changing the speed of the change speed device, and delays the movement of the clutch to the active position, for permitting driving power to be returned to the change speed device after a change of the speed ratio of the change speed device.

  • Patent number: 5855530
Abstract: The present invention relates to a speed-changing transmission hub for a bicycle comprising: a central shaft; a controlling device; a planetary gear system, which comprises a planet gear holder, holding several planet gears; a second ring gear; a first ring gear; and two sun gears. Variations of speed are realized by separately fixing the sun gears of different diameters. There is no switching of input and no reversal of the rotation of the sun gears. The sun gears only need to be controlled by a one-way clutch guided by the controlling device, which is mounted on the central shaft. Thereby the arrangement is simplified and its weight is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5672069
Abstract: A card edge connector (10) includes an elongated housing (12) defining a central slot (14) along its lengthwise direction for receiving a card (100) therein. A plurality of passageways (16) are formed in the housing (12) by two sides of the slot (14). Two cavities (18) are formed at two opposite ends of the housing (12) for receiving a pair of corresponding ejectors (20) therein, respectively. A pair of retention bars (34) are positioned adjacent each end of the housing (12) and respectively on two sides of the slot (14). Each ejector (20) includes a main body (22) which is substantially higher than the adjacent retention bars (34). A pair of stopper blocks (32) are formed on two side surfaces (28) of the main body (22) for engagement with the corresponding retention bars (34), respectively, when the ejector (20) is in the vertical position.
