  • Publication number: 20230224770
Abstract: This disclosure discloses communication methods and apparatuses. One example method includes: obtaining slice information of a session, sending a first message to a network function repository function network element, and receiving identification information of an intermediate session management function network element from the network function repository function network element. The intermediate session management function network element is configured to manage an intermediate user plane function network element, and the intermediate user plane function network element is configured to forward service data between an access network device to which a terminal is connected and an anchor user plane function network element in response to the terminal moving out of a service area of the anchor user plane function network element and a service area of an anchor session management function network element.

  • Publication number: 20210368573
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to example SMS processing methods in an Internet of Things, mobility management network elements, and terminal devices, to provide an SMS service for an Internet of Things terminal device. One example method includes receiving, by a mobility management network element in a packet switched (PS) domain, a non-combined registration request from a terminal device, where the non-combined registration request carries SMS only indication information. When determining that the mobility management network element in the PS domain cannot transfer an SMS for the terminal device through the PS domain, the mobility management network element in the PS domain sends a location update request to a mobility management network element in a circuit switched (CS) domain The location update request is used to implement registration of the terminal device with the CS domain.

  • Patent number: 10666812
Abstract: A charging control apparatus, a method, and a system are disclosed. When a user equipment (UE) accesses a service that charges an over the top (OTT) service (SP), the charging control apparatus receives flow description information from a policy charging enforcement function (PCEF), determines a service identifier corresponding to the data flow; and sends the service identifier to the PCEF, so that the PCEF charges for the service according to the service identifier. When the UE accesses the service, the PCEF may obtain the service identifier from the charging control apparatus. In this way, the PCEF can obtain the service identifier and the charging identifier that are corresponding to the data flow. Therefore, a configuration workload can be decreased.
