Publication number: 20240100705Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus for performing reactive positioning of a robot gripper includes one or more fingers disposed on an end-effector of the robot, a signal processing circuit, a memory storing instructions, and a processor. Each of the one or more fingers includes a transducer configured to generate vibrational energy based on an input signal, and convert an acoustic reflection of the vibrational energy from an object into a voltage signal. The signal processing circuit is configured to provide the input signal to each transducer, and perform signal processing on the voltage signal of each transducer resulting in reflection data. The processor is configured to execute the instructions to perform pre-touch proximity detection on the reflection data, perform grasp positioning on the reflection data, perform contact detection from the reflection data, and provide, to the robot, results of the pre-touch proximity detection, the grasp positioning, and the contact detection.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Siddharth RUPAVATHARAM, Richard Howard, Daewon Lee, Lawrence Jackel, Caleb Sebastian Escobedo, Ibrahim Volkan Isler

Patent number: 10614268Abstract: A method includes providing a design template in a computer design application for a user in a client device is disclosed. The method includes assigning user-designs to initial points in an embedded classification chart based on the user-design and a learning model, presenting a design proposal to the user based on a first design type in the embedded classification chart that is close to the initial point, and receiving an augmented design from the user based on the design proposal. The method includes assigning a second point in the embedded classification chart to the augmented design and storing the augmented design with a group of collected designs in a design database, and presenting a second design proposal to the user based on a second design type in the embedded classification chart. The method includes receiving a final user-design from the user and storing the final user-design in the design database.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2018Date of Patent: April 7, 2020Assignee: InVisionApp Inc.Inventors: Caleb Howard, Robert Jay Reynolds, Adam Martinez, Bryn Wyka

Patent number: 10169891Abstract: An example method of generating three-dimensional visual objects representing a person based on two-dimensional images of at least a part of the person's body may include receiving a first polygonal mesh representing a human body part, wherein the first polygonal mesh is compliant with a target application topology. The example method may further include receiving a second polygonal mesh representing the human body part, wherein the second polygonal mesh is derived from a plurality of images of a person. The example method may further include modifying at least one of the first polygonal mesh or the second polygonal mesh to optimize a value of a metric reflecting a difference between the first polygonal mesh and the second polygonal mesh.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2015Date of Patent: January 1, 2019Assignee: Electronic Arts Inc.Inventors: David Auclair, Gianvito Serra, Caleb Howard, Robert Jay Reynolds, Gerald Phaneuf, Aaron Jeromin

Patent number: 9734594Abstract: An example method of generating three-dimensional objects based on two-dimensional images of at least part of the object may include receiving a rendering transaction request. The method may further include transmitting, to the requestor, a rendering transaction response identifying a first storage location. The method may further include receiving, from the requestor, a notification indicating that images depicting an object have been uploaded to the first storage location. The method may further include transmitting, to a rendering application, a rendering request. The method may further include receiving, from the rendering application, a rendering response indicating that a polygonal mesh representing the images has been stored at a second storage location. The method may further include producing, using the polygonal mesh, a preview image and storing the preview image at a third storage location.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2015Date of Patent: August 15, 2017Assignee: Electronics Arts Inc.Inventors: David Auclair, Gianvito Serra, Caleb Howard, Robert Jay Reynolds, Gerald Phaneuf, Aaron Jeromin, Michael Frederich Polak, Jerome Timothy Bradley, Edmond Lo, Thomas Ince, Ray Shannon, Timothy King
