  • Publication number: 20240100732
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a power tool including a motor housing and an electric motor situated within the motor housing. The electric motor is configured to provide rotational energy to rotate an output device of the power tool about an output axis. The power tool also includes a cover configured to cover at least a portion of a surface of the motor housing that faces the output device. The power tool further includes a first lighting device located within the cover and a second lighting device located within the cover. The first lighting device and the second lighting device are located around the output axis and are separated from each other by at least 130 degrees about the output axis. The power tool also includes first power wires configured to provide power to the first lighting device from a power source of the power tool.

  • Publication number: 20230264332
Abstract: A powered fastener driver includes a housing, a nosepiece extending from the housing, a driver blade movable within the nosepiece between a ready position and a driven position the driver blade comprising a plurality of drive teeth on a first side of the driver blade and a plurality of locking projections on a second side of the driver blade, a piston coupled to the driver blade for movement therewith, a driver cylinder within which the piston is movable, a storage chamber cylinder containing pressurized gas therein and in fluid communication with the driver cylinder, a first end of the driver cylinder being affixed to a corresponding first end of the storage chamber cylinder, and a latch actuator assembly adjacent the driver blade, wherein the latch actuator assembly includes a latch to engage one of the plurality of locking projections to prevent the driver blade from moving toward the driven position.

  • Publication number: 20230246516
Abstract: A power tool includes a motor housing, a motor, a handle coupled to the housing, and a vibration damping assembly. The motor is positioned in the motor housing and configured to rotatably drive an output shaft. The vibration damping assembly is positioned between the motor housing and the handle. The vibration damping assembly includes a first coupling portion defined by the motor housing, a second coupling portion defined by the handle, and an elastomeric damper captured between the first coupling portion and the second coupling portion. The first coupling portion includes a boss having a flange and a first groove. The second coupling portion defines an opening and includes first and second ribs extending into the opening and spaced apart along a longitudinal axis of the handle. The first and second ribs define a second groove therebetween. The damper occupies the first and second grooves.

  • Publication number: 20220134525
Abstract: A powered staple driver includes a magazine configured to receive staples and a nosepiece having a staple driving channel from which consecutive staples from the magazine are driven, the staple driving channel extending along a driving axis. The magazine obliquely extends from the nosepiece in both a first plane containing the driving axis and a second plane that is perpendicular to the driving axis.

  • Publication number: 20220080561
Abstract: A power tool includes a main housing having a pair of clamshells, each of which has a mating face and a blind bore within the mating face. The power tool further includes a motor having a front bearing retainer, a plurality of fasteners configured to secure the front bearing retainer within the main housing, and a pin received within the blind bores of the respective clamshells, such that each of the clamshells is inhibited from moving with respect to the other clamshell. The power tool further includes an output assembly having an anvil with an output member configured to engage a socket and a pawl that is moveable between a first position in which the pawl is operatively coupled to drive the anvil in a first direction and a second position in which the pawl is operatively coupled to drive the anvil in a second direction.

  • Publication number: 20210008688
Abstract: A power tool including a motor configured to rotatably drive an output shaft, a variable motor speed control input, a motor speed limit input, and a motor controller. The motor controller includes an electronic processor and a memory configured to store instructions. When executed by the motor controller, the instructions configure the motor controller to detect a motor speed limit from a setting of the motor speed limit input, and detect a variable speed control setting from the variable motor speed control input. The motor controller generates a motor speed control signal for driving the motor based on the detected motor speed limit and the detected variable motor speed control setting, and transmits the motor speed control signal to a motor driver circuit configured to drive the motor at a speed based on the motor speed control signal.
