  • Patent number: 4127178
Abstract: An attachment for an earth working apparatus having a mobile frame with central and wing sections, each with forward and rear frame members and a plurality of earth working members thereon. The attachment includes a plurality of reach arms for each section and having a forward end portion thereof connected to the forward and rear frame members of the respective frame section. A vertically adjustable hanger unit is swingably mounted on each reach arm and has a tool bar carrying support member swingably mounted thereon. Each hanger unit is constructed so as to permit an elongated, adjustable drag tension spring to have unusually great length such as by allowing a lower end portion to be connected to the respective support member rearwardly of the hanger unit and an upper end portion to be connected to the respective reach arm forwardly of the hanger unit.

  • Patent number: 4127299
Abstract: A mobile camper arrangement is disclosed wherein two camper bodies of different shapes are mounted on the same towable trailer. One of the bodies is shaped to fit into outer recesses of the other body in order to effect maximum utilization of space on the trailer. Accordingly, a second camper body can be shaped to fit together with one that was previously purchased and which was specially shaped to fit snugly into the walled bed of a pickup truck. A useful combination is thus provided whereby the previously purchased camper body for a pickup truck does not have to lie unused or be disposed of when a larger mobile camper is needed.

  • Patent number: 4127073
Abstract: An improved subsoil plow assembly to be attached to an implement frame employs a soil-splitting leading edge of arcuate cuspate shape, breaking the earth but inhibiting the mixing of the subsoil with the topsoil. That portion below the cuspal apex tends to split away and sidewardly while the portions above the apex are directed upwardly. The plow is preferably comprised of laminate construction providing strength and particular suitability for forming a channel therein directing passage of gaseous or liquid fertilizer into the soil. An alternate embodiment includes a pocket on the leading edge accepting removable and replaceable cuspal inserts useful in differing soil conditions.

  • Patent number: 4073532
Abstract: A round bale handling device for use with conventional farm tractor front end loaders includes a normally vertical, forwardly tiltable frame having a pair of shafts with a plurality of tines thereon mounted for partial rotation about longitudinal axes thereof, permitting grasping of a bale positioned therebetween for handling without substantial compression of the bale surface. Motive structure is provided to rotate the shafts to engage and disengage bales, and quick detach hitch members secure the bale handling device to the loader for manipulation by the tractor operator.

  • Patent number: 4058172
Abstract: A folding cultivator is disclosed wherein first and second sets of downwardly extending teeth are attached to the rearwardly folding wing of the cultivator at spaced intervals along its length. The teeth are arranged so that teeth of one set are located on each side of a tooth of the other set. In addition, the distal ends of the teeth of one set are located forwardly with respect to distal ends of the teeth of the other set. When the wing frame of the cultivator is folded and unfolded to achieve transporting and operating configurations, respectively, the teeth of a central wing section and those of outer wing sections intermesh without entangling and damaging each other.

  • Patent number: 4056148
Abstract: A latching yoke is pivotally attached to the main brace of an earth working implement having a wing frame which is rearwardly foldable. Elongated, flexible cables extend rearwardly and outwardly from the main frame to the outer ends of the wing frame and arm members, pivotally attached to the main frame, receive one end of the cables for preventing slackening thereof when the wing frame is folded from an operating configuration to a transporting configuration, or vice versa. A wing frame lifting tower is on the main frame and has a lever operating an actuator rod. When the wing frame is in the operating configuration, the arm members are folded forwardly and inwardly and the outer ends thereof are latched by the yoke which has an opening through which the rod extends and is freely movable. Adjustable yoke engaging members are spaced along the rod to determine the positions of the wing frame when the arms are latched for operation and unlatched for transport configuration.

  • Patent number: 4031965
Abstract: A wing folding or lift kit adapted to be easily installed on the central frame members of foldable, multi-sectioned earthworking implements to selectively move pivotally mounted side sections or wings. A centrally mounted floating hydraulic cylinder has linkage arms hinged on the ends thereof, with the outer ends of said arms attached, by lost-motion links, to cross members of the wings. In cylinder-extended position, the wings are free to follow ground contour without "working" the cylinder. Upon contraction of the cylinder, the wings are rotated or folded.

  • Patent number: 4032184
Abstract: A round bale loader attachment is adapted for use with conventional farm tractor front end loaders and has forwardly extending, generally parallel arms mounted for free pivotal movement about longitudinal axes thereof, permitting a semi-cradling of the bales for efficient handling with minimal lateral squeezing. Simple structure is provided for varying the space between the arms, and hitch means secure the attachment to the loader for manipulation by the tractor operator.

  • Patent number: 4029155
Abstract: A trailing floating mount for agricultural finish tools is connected to the wheeled frame of an implement carriage and includes an elongated, longitudinally oriented finish tool draw bar attached to the carriage by a double-stop bracket which allows the bar freedom to pivot in a vertical plane through an angle sufficient to follow ground contours but limited so that when the implement frame is raised for transport, the draw bar, with the finish tools attached, is also raised but prevented from folding into the implement carriage or tools.

  • Patent number: 3976145
Abstract: An inverted U-shaped bracket is designed to flexibly mount transverse harrow tine supporting bars for independent movement of each other upon longitudinally extending implement carrier arms to permit drag angle adjustment and ability to back up without digging in.

  • Patent number: 3964622
Abstract: A loading arm mounting bracket includes an upwardly open upper slot and a forwardly open lower slot respectively adapted to receive corresponding upper and lower pins of an implement bracket. A spring loaded lock plate is selectively received between the lower pin and slot-adjacent retaining plates, thereby removably securing the lower pin in the lower slot and trapping the upper pin in the upper slot. Manual release is obtained by pulling on a handle attached to the locking plate.

  • Patent number: 3960221
Abstract: An earth tillage apparatus has a hydraulically liftable, foldable carriage with sections which extend laterally from a tongue to a wide field working position and are foldable to a narrow transport or storage position. Rigid structural arms are hingedly mounted on the tongue and have free ends extending laterally a substantial distance therefrom. In a preferred embodiment, cables respectively have one end secured to the tongue and the other end secured to the wings and extend through a pulley mounted on each of the arm free ends for the purpose of positioning the point of pull a substantial distance laterally of the tongue thereby reducing the tendency for inwardly buckling the carriage. The arms are locked in their laterally extending position when the wings are in the wide field position and are selectively released to hingedly move to a second or transport position when the wings are folded.

  • Patent number: 3954144
Abstract: An improved chain lifter for foldable soil conditioner apparatus of the general type characterized by an elongated, foldable wing frame for soil conditioning members which is hingably mounted transversally on the rear of a main frame, is liftable from the ground by means of a lifting tower on the main frame, and is stabilized by reinforcing chains which extend rearwardly and outwardly from the main frame to the outer ends of the wing frame. Arm members which lift the chains have one end pivotally attached to the main frame whereas the other ends of the members are secured to the reinforcing chains intermediate to the ends thereof. Resilient biasing links interconnect the arm members with the upright lever of the lifting tower. Accordingly, the arms are pivoted upwardly and forwardly by means of the resilient biasing links when the wing frame is folded to a transport position, hence lifting the slackened reinforcing chains off the ground.
