  • Patent number: 11568967
Abstract: A truth maintenance method and system. The method includes receiving by a computer processor, health event data associated with heath care records for patients. The computer processor associates portions of the health event data with associated patients and related records in a truth maintenance system database. The computer processor derives first health related assumption data and retrieves previous health related assumption data derived from and associated with previous portions of previous health event data. The computer processor executes non monotonic logic with respect to the first health related assumption data and the previous health related assumption data. In response, the computer processor generates and stores updated first updated health related assumption data associated with the first health related assumption data and the previous health related assumption data.

  • Patent number: 11526788
Abstract: An approach for determining a veracity of a reported event is provided. In an embodiment, a set of predictor variables is retrieved from a selected use case. Each of these predictor values is a condition that indicates the veracity of the reported event. In addition, a set of hidden predictor variables is generated from a set of unstructured documents related to the reported event using a hidden Markov model that is based on the predictor variables using a cognitive system. These hidden predictor variables are combined with the set of predictor variables to generate a set of updated predictor variables. These updated predictor variables are used by the cognitive system to return a determination of the veracity of the reported event.

  • Patent number: 10740682
Abstract: A truth maintenance method and system. The method includes receiving by a computer processor from RFID tags embedded in sensors, event data associated with events detected by said sensors. The computer processor associates portions of the event data with associated RFID tags and derives assumption data associated with each portion of the portions. The computer processor retrieves previous assumption data derived from and associated with previous portions of previous event data retrieved from the RFID tags and executes non monotonic logic with respect to the assumption data and the previous assumption data. In response, the computer processor generates and stores updated assumption data associated with the assumption data and the previous assumption data.

  • Publication number: 20130275148
Abstract: A system and associated method for automatically controlling a hospital equipment of in-patient care environment is performed by a module coupled to a classification database, an Inference Engine (IE), a Truth Maintenance System (TMS), and the hospital equipment. Upon admitting a patient, a patient record related to the patient is created and events for the patient are recorded. Based on inference rules of the IE, inferred event data is generated and subsequently control data to manipulate the hospital equipment is generated. Pursuant to new event affecting truth of the inferred event data, the inferred event data may be renewed and new control data based on the renewed inferred event data is created to ensure that the control data is based on the latest event related to the patient.

  • Publication number: 20110302264
Abstract: RFID data can be received by a RFID data mediation service operating upon a RFID network data server. The received RFID data can be categorized based upon contents of at least one of a data store containing previously categorized RFID data and at least one categorization parameter associated with a data processing software application registered with the RFID data mediation service. The categorized RFID data can be stored in said data store. At least one record of categorized RFID data can be provided to a corresponding registered data processing software application. In one embodiment, the RFID network data server can provide software services to different entities for a fee, where each of the software services permits a software system of the different entities to react events triggered by the received RFID data in accordance with entity specific configurations established for the RFID network data service.
