  • Patent number: 4179967
Abstract: A saw blade is provided with an arrangement and form of teeth which reduces vibration, cutting noise and chatter, and which enhances cutting speed and blade life. In addition to having teeth arranged in recurrent groups wherein the teeth alternately decrease and increase in gullet depth and pitch with the tips of the teeth in alignment and being set laterally to the same extent, the smaller teeth are given a positive rake angle which increases with decrease in tooth size so that the angle of attack of the smaller teeth is sharper thereby causing them to dig in and remove a larger clip, thereby tending to equalize the size of the chips removed by the different teeth.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 1978
Date of Patent: December 25, 1979
    Assignee: Stanadyne, Inc.
    Inventor: Calvin M. Clark
  • Patent number: 4148593
Abstract: A drive collar is non-rotatably mounted for sliding movement on an arbor between working and release positions. In working position, the drive collar is disposed adjacent the base of a hole saw which is threadably mounted on an end of the arbor, and the drive collar has a pair of drive pins projecting into holes in the base of the hole saw for positively transmitting drive torque from the arbor to the saw. The drive pins have a reverse taper to urge the drive collar toward the base of the hole saw.

  • Patent number: 4036560
Abstract: A drive collar is non-rotatably mounted for sliding movement on an arbor between working and release positions. In working position, the drive collar is disposed adjacent the base of a hole saw which is threadably mounted on an end of the arbor, and the collar and the hole saw are coupled for positively transmitting drive torque from the arbor to the saw. In release position, the drive collar is retracted from the saw and rendered inoperative for quick and easy assembly and disassembly of the saw and arbor.

  • Patent number: 3999869
Abstract: An arbor is provided for use with different size power tool chuck jaws and has a main body section of enlarged cross section relative to a shank of the arbor. The shank and main body section have a plurality of grooves therein with each groove longitudinally extending the length of the shank and into the adjoining main body section to define a continuous chuck jaw engaging surface which in the main body section of the arbor is of enlarged circumferential dimension relative to that of the shank drive surface for engaging different size chuck jaws in non-slipping positive driving relation.
