  • Publication number: 20170028615
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an air-filled structure allows for ease of manufacturing utilizing plastic/vinyl/TPU laminated/urethane coated type top and bottom exterior layers as well as an internal baffle, all of which can be heat or chemically bonded together. Most if not all of the bonds or welds required to be made can be created at the same time in a high volume manufacturing step by providing one or more internal layer(s) each with a plurality of openings or cutouts which provide an opening or window through which the internal structure/baffle can be attached directly to the top and bottom layers of the air-filled structure.

  • Patent number: 9113697
Abstract: An anatomically segmented backpack has an upper back region, a lower back region, and a hip belt region. The upper back region includes a shoulder strap joined to a pack load carrying portion and a thorax harness. The thorax harness extends in two opposite directions under each shoulder blade of the user. The lower back region is coupled to the upper back region and a hip region. A slide mechanism is located in the pack load carrying portion of the upper and lower back region. A load-bearing element is disposed within the lower back region, for transferring a load from the upper back region to the user's hips. The hip region is joined to a front section of the pack by a load bearing hip belt that extends around the user.

  • Patent number: 8984814
Abstract: A single wall airbeam constructed of a single layer material including a core of polyester fabric having a coating of adhesive on each surface of the polyester layer. A thin polyester film is applied to one of the adhesive layers. First and second polyurethane layers are applied to the other adhesive layer. The first polyurethane layer is a thicker, higher melt point polyurethane layer that may or may not be coated in a fire retardant material. The second polyurethane layer is a thinner, polyurethane layer having a lower melting point. An airbeam is constructed using one or more pieces of the fabric and heat sealing or welding the one or more polyurethane layers of fabric at seams, when the one or more layers are placed in a confronting position.

  • Patent number: 8943754
Abstract: A bending mechanism for an airbeam is located inside an outer member that defines the airbeam. The outer member creates an air containing region. A bending element defines a bending region and to which is attached two opposing portions of the inner surface of the outer member. The bending component defines two air containing regions in the airbeam and includes an air conducting path that is disposed within the bending region. The air conducting path is fluidly connected to the air containing regions on both sides of the bending region and is configured for allowing the airbeam to be bent and arranged in two planes at the bending region while allowing air to be inserted into the airbeam at one inflation point. Therefore, the air-conducting member allows air to flow from one air containing region to another air containing region on opposite sides of the bending region.

  • Publication number: 20140366269
Abstract: A sleeping bag with one more ventilation/temperature adjustment openings. The sleeping bag includes a length and width and the one more ventilation/temperature adjustment openings extend along a length of the front or upper side of the sleeping bag. A first more ventilation/temperature adjustment opening is located on a first side of a central opening access and a second more ventilation/temperature adjustment opening is located on a second side of the central opening access. Each more ventilation/temperature adjustment openings includes a fastening mechanism that when opened, a crevice is formed in the outer layer and insulative material of the sleeping bag, allowing the sleeping bag to vent better, thereby cooling an occupant of the sleeping bag and offering temperature regulation.

  • Publication number: 20140033594
Abstract: A weapon protection enclosure device protects a weapon from adverse conditions, including water, dust, dirt and sand. The weapon protection device features a material that is tough and durable, impervious to water, airtight and lightweight. The weapon protection device is compact when not in use and requires very little storage space. The weapon protection device allows a user to fire the weapon with either hand while the weapon is inside the protection device thereby allowing the weapon to be used on short notice. A clear window is provided in the device in line with the standard projection sight (such as a laser sight) on the weapon so that the sight can be used even if the weapon is in the weapon protection device. One or more waterproof opening closures are provided. An oral air inflation tube allows for the buoyancy of the weapon protection device to be adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20130011275
Abstract: An inflatable air pump having an inflatable and compressible frame that includes an upper inflatable frame portion, a lower inflatable frame and a plurality of inflatable frame connecting portions inflatable through an air inlet device. An inner bag includes a top region connected to the top inflatable frame portion and a bottom region connected to the bottom inflatable frame portion and configured to hold air. The top region has an opening that allows air to enter the inner bag. The inner bag has an air outlet device configured to attach to an inflatable device. A user places their palm at least partially over the opening and presses downward, pressing the top surface towards the bottom surface and partially compressing the plurality of inflatable frame connecting portions, thereby forcing air in the inner bag to exit the inner bag through the air outlet device, thereby inflating the inflatable device.
