  • Patent number: 12679557
Abstract: A method of determining at a given time at least one position of a mobile structure by determining at least one speed of the mobile structure at the given time, comparing the speed determined with listed speeds each associated with a listed position, and determining the position of the mobile structure at the given time that corresponds to the listed position associated with the listed speed equal to or closest to the speed determined at the given time. Also, a device for executing the method and an aircraft including at least one such device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 27, 2025
Date of Patent: July 14, 2026
    Assignee: Airbus SAS
    Inventor: Cameron Cooke
  • Publication number: 20250242940
Abstract: A method for determining, at a given moment in time, at least one characteristic of a movement of a mobile structure of an aircraft. The method includes determining a pair of coordinates in a reference plane corresponding to a projection of a reference feature forming part of the mobile structure in the reference plane, determining the characteristic of the movement of the mobile structure by comparing the pair of coordinates previously determined with reference coordinate pairs, at least one characteristic of the movement of the mobile structure being associated with each pair of reference coordinates. Also an aircraft having a device for implementing the method.

  • Patent number: 9870515
Abstract: A system to identity at least a property of a substance located in an object, or located on a surface of the object, is generally described. The system may include an electromagnetic radiation (EMR) source arranged to selectively emit EMR at more than one wavelength to illuminate the surface of the object. The system may include an EMR sensor arranged to sense EMR returned from the surface and to use the returned EMR to provide an output signal that represents an image taken of the surface, the image including a plurality of pixels. The system may include a processor system arranged to compare information that is indicative of the output signal of the EMR sensor with reference information indicative of the property of the substance. The processor system may be arranged to select a first wavelength to illuminate the surface by the EMR source, and subsequently select at least one further wavelength based on whether the information concerning the property is obtained as a result of use of a preceding wavelength.

  • Patent number: 9546968
Abstract: A method for assessing the quality of a piece of meat may be described. The method may include creating a plurality of cross-sectional images through a piece of meat. The method may additionally include performing image analysis on at least one of the images to determine the arrangement of fat and lean meat within the piece of meat. The arrangement may be indicative of the quality of the piece of meat.

  • Patent number: 9345908
Abstract: Techniques are generally described for a treatment balloon, and methods and systems effective to detect a position of a beam. The system may include a treatment balloon effective to receive the beam. The treatment balloon may include a shaft and a balloon portion with an open end in communication with the shaft. The balloon portion may be effective to be at least partially filled with a fluid. The treatment balloon may be effective to generate a light wave when the treatment beam is incident on the treatment balloon. A waveguide in the treatment balloon may be effective to receive the light wave. A light detector in optical communication with the waveguide may be effective to detect the light wave. A processor in communication with the light detector may be effective to detect the position of the beam.
