  • Patent number: 6096248
Abstract: A method of reducing fouling of a mold caused by vulcanization of a rubber compound in the mold. Pursuant to the method, about 0.2-20 phr of a fouling inhibitor composition comprising starch is added to the rubber compound before the rubber compound is vulcanized in the mold. The fouling inhibitor composition is substantially free of cross-linked fatty acids, asphalt, tackifying resins, and synthetic plasticizers. More molding cycles can be run before the mold is cleaned.
