  • Publication number: 20210127407
Abstract: According to certain embodiments a method is provided for use in a wireless transmitter that includes receiving an indication to schedule a high-priority transmission to preempt a lower-priority transmission that comprises one or more code blocks. A first resource allocation is determined for the high-priority transmission. A fraction of bits in the one or more code blocks of the lower-priority transmission that will be punctured by the first resource allocation is determined. When the fraction of bits in the one or more code blocks of the lower-priority transmission that will be punctured is less than a threshold, the first resource allocation is used for the high-priority transmission. Otherwise, a second allocation for the high-priority transmission is determined and used to minimize a number of the one or more code blocks that will be punctured.

  • Patent number: 10965402
Abstract: A transmitting node determines data for a first service will be transmitted during a time period when data for a second service will be transmitted. The data for the first service requires lower latency than the data for the second service and the data for the first service includes an original set of data for the first service and at least one repetition of the original set of data for the first service. The transmitting node adjusts resources consumed by the data for the first service based on available transmission resources. During the time period the transmitting node then transmits the data for the first service using the adjusted resources while data for the second service is transmitted during the time period.

  • Publication number: 20200266922
Abstract: The proposed embodiment provides an efficient way to implicitly detect at the receiver the puncturing information (i. e. time/frequency resources, MCS, TBS etc.) of the Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC) in the punctured Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) area. The performance of eMBB traffic can be improved by implicitly providing the puncturing information without any additional signaling or indications (e.g. does not require any additional bits).

  • Publication number: 20200235869
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method in a wireless device includes transmitting a protocol data unit (PDU) or segment of a PDU on a first link and transmitting the PDU or the segment of the PDU on a second link. One or more retransmissions of the PDU or the segment of the PDU are scheduled on the second link. A positive acknowledgment is received from a receiver. The positive acknowledgement indicates a successful receipt of the PDU or the segment of the PDU on the first link. In response to receiving the positive acknowledgement, the one or more retransmissions of the PUU or the segment of the PDU on the second link are cancelled.

  • Publication number: 20200128567
Abstract: A method performed by a first communication device (101) operating in a wireless communications network (100). The first communication device (101) obtains (301) a grant for an uplink transmission to a second communication device (102) operating in the 5 wireless communications network (100). The grant comprises a first indication of one or more first sets of parameters for transmission. The first communication device (101) selects (302) a second set of parameters for the uplink transmission based on: i) the indicated one or more first sets of parameters, and ii) one or more quality of service requirements of an information to be transmitted in the uplink transmission. The first 10 communication device (101) then initiates (304) sending the uplink transmission to the second communication device (102), based on the selected second set of parameters.

  • Patent number: 10567135
Abstract: A method performed by a network node (110) for deciding a feedback option of a message sent between the network node (110) and a User Equipment, UE, 120 in a wireless communication network (100) is provided. The message comprises a first data, which is punctured by a second data. The first data is sent in a slot of a radio resource. The second data is sent a mini-slot of the radio resource. The mini-slot is smaller than the slot. The network node (110) decides (401) a feedback option for feedback that is to be sent to the sender of the message. The deciding is based on any one or more out of: slot control resource capacity, mini-slot control resource capacity and requirements of the radio bearer.

  • Publication number: 20200007281
Abstract: There is provided a method in a node for a wireless communication network. The node is configurable with a plurality of radio carriers for radio transmission between the node and one or more other nodes of the wireless communication network. The plurality of radio carriers comprises at least a first carrier and a second carrier. The node is operable according to a protocol stack comprising at least a first layer and a second layer, wherein the second layer is higher than the first layer. The first layer is responsible for aggregation of the first and second radio carriers, and the second layer is responsible for duplication of data packets for transmission over the first and second carriers. The method comprises determining, at a first entity of the first layer, that the second carrier is activated or deactivated; and sending, from the first entity of the first layer to a first entity of the second layer, an indication of the activation or deactivation of the second carrier.

Abstract: A radio node is configured for use in a wireless communication system. The radio node in this regard is configured to transmit a signal that is punctured by another signal to another radio node. The radio node is also configured to estimate a probability of decoding failure that characterizes a likelihood that the another radio will fail to decode the punctured signal. Abstract: A receiver blindly determines which parts of the soft buffer to flush by comparing the reception of a first transmission to the reception of a second transmission (i.e., a re-transmission of the first transmission). Any large differences between the first and second transmissions are identified as puncturing events. After identifying the location of the puncturing events, the receiver then evaluates different hypotheses about which one of the transmissions was punctured in the different events. For each of the hypotheses the receiver attempts to decode the received data and the receiver stops processing once decoding is successful or after the receiver has processed all of the hypotheses.
