  • Publication number: 20230127317
Abstract: A knotless suture fastener installation system for securing medical devices such as cardiac implants. The knotless suture fasteners may be spring-biased so as to grip onto sutures passed therethrough. The system includes a fastener deployment tool with a proximal handle and a distal shaft to which a fastener cartridge attaches. A plurality of disposable cartridges are sequentially attached to the end of the deployment tool and used to secure the medical implant one fastener at a time. The deployment tool may also cut the sutures being fastened.

  • Publication number: 20190328374
Abstract: An implantable closure device can comprise a self-expanding metal frame comprising a central portion defining a lumen and a plurality of first anchoring arms and a plurality of second anchoring arms angularly spaced around the central portion. The central portion can comprise a sinusoidal-shaped ring defining a plurality of apices. The first anchoring arms can be connected to locations inside of the apices on a first side of the central portion and the second anchoring arms can be connected to locations inside of the apices on a second side of the central portion. The first anchoring arms can be configured to bear against a first surface of a septal wall. The second anchoring arms can be configured to bear against a second surface of the septal wall.

  • Publication number: 20180333150
Abstract: A septal closure device can include an expandable frame having a central portion defining a lumen. The frame can have a plurality of arms extending radially outward from the central portion. The arms can be connected to the central portion at angularly spaced locations on the central portion that intersect a common plane perpendicular to a central axis of the lumen. The closure device can further include a blood occluding member supported on the frame and positioned to block at least the flow of blood from the left atrium to the right atrium through the lumen of the frame when the device is implanted in the septum.
