  • Publication number: 20050204448
Abstract: An article of apparel is disclosed that includes a textile with at least one property that changes upon exposure to a physical stimulus. The textile has a modifiable structure formed from yarns that exhibit a dimensional-transformation upon exposure to the physical stimulus. The yarns have a first set of dimensions when unexposed to the physical stimulus, and the yarns have a second set of dimensions when exposed to the physical stimulus. The structure of the textile is modified by exposing the textile to the physical stimulus such that the yarns transform from the first set of dimensions to the second set of dimensions and change the property of the textile.

  • Patent number: 6513209
Abstract: A fastening system for an article of apparel, advantageously a bra, including first and second coupling members attached to ends of a hemband. The coupling members are movable between an engaged or locked state when the bra is worn and a disengaged state to remove the bra. The coupling members are integrally molded and each includes a stitch plate and a plurality of locking members. The locking members on one coupling member are hooks while the other are loops. The coupling members have a flex groove formed therein between their locking members to make the coupling members more flexible. The flex groove may optimally extend across the stitch plates to further enhance flexibility. The ends of the hooks are angularly displaced from their stitch plates. This raises the interlocking locking portions away from the back of the wearer to increase comfort. Additionally, the hooks include opposed angled guide surfaces. The opposed angled guide surfaces each have a parallel guide surface on an adjacent hook.

  • Patent number: 5596820
Abstract: A shell, particularly for sports shoes such as ice skates or roller skates or trekking boots. The shell includes a single body that has a first flap and a second flap, at least one of which is arranged transversely to the foot instep. A single fastening device can be arranged between the first and second flaps. The first and second flaps are connected along two directrices that are oblique with respect to the toe and heel regions. This configuration allows to reduce the number of shell closure levers, nonetheless ensuring optimum securing of the foot inside the shell.
