Abstract: According to certain inventive techniques, a first client requests information from a second client by communicating with a data processing system. The data processing system authenticates the identities of the clients and determines if they are authorized to communicate with each other. If authorized, the data processing system facilitates the transfer of the requested information to the first client without ever receiving the requested information. Thus, data can be transferred via the Internet between parties while maintaining the security and privacy of all involved parties without exposing the data processing system and the company that operates it to the risks associated with the transmission of private data.
