  • Publication number: 20170004384
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for tracking baggage using images. An image of a bag being checked-in may be captured and uploaded to a baggage tracking system. The system may store the image in a baggage tracking database, and associate the stored image with records identifying the bag and/or a travel itinerary for which the bag is being used. The system may characterize images in the database by identifying keypoints in the image, and extracting descriptors from the keypoints. In response to receiving an image of an unidentified bag from a user device, the baggage tracking system may compare descriptors extracted from the received image to descriptors extracted from images stored in the database. Stored images having a sufficient number of matching descriptors may be transmitted to the user device for display to a user. The user may view the images to confirm the identity of the unidentified bag.

  • Patent number: 9536010
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for automatically issuing travel documents. Tasks relating to issuance of travel documents are generated by an originating application in response to booking a travel service. The tasks are received and stored in a first queue until a triggering event, such as the arrival of a time for issuance of a document. In response to the triggering event, a task in the first queue may be placed in a second queue for transmission to an issuing application. The documents to be issued may be determined based on records in a passenger name record (PNR) stored in a database. The PNR may be determined based on the task. The PNR may be updated with information indicating whether task processing was successful. In the event of an error, information indicating the cause of the error may be added to the PNR.

  • Publication number: 20140200932
Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and data processing systems for responding to an event that results in a modification of a Passenger Name Record (PNR). Images of a modified PNR and a corresponding Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) are received, as well as an image a establishing a matrix of links between PNR services and EMD coupons. The PNR, EMD, and an Electronic Ticket (E-Ticket) are reconciled by re-associating orphan PNR services with matching EMD coupons and an EMD coupon with a corresponding E-Ticket coupon. Any unmatched EMD coupons from an associated E-Ticket coupon are disassociated.
