  • Patent number: 8399376
Abstract: The invention relates to a particle blend comprising mainly or consisting of an oxide phase of the pseudo-brookite type comprising at least titanium and aluminum, said blend being obtained from at least two particle size fractions, namely a coarse particle size fraction, the median diameter d50 of which is greater than 12 microns, and a fine particle size fraction, the median diameter d50 of which is between 0.5 and 3 microns, the mass ratio of said coarse fraction to said fine fraction being between 1.5 and 20, limits inclusive, and the ratio of the median diameter of the coarse fraction to that of the fine fraction being greater than 12.

  • Publication number: 20110185690
Abstract: The invention relates to a filter of which the filtering portion is made from an inorganic material comprising grains of SiC bonded by a vitroceramic phase, to form a porous structure of which the apparent porosity is between 20 and 70%, said vitroceramic bonding phase comprising at least the following components, in molar percentage of the total oxides present in said phase: SiO2: 30% to 80% Al2O3: 5% to 45% MO: 10% to 45%, where MO is an oxide of a divalent cation or the sum of the oxides of the divalent cations present in said vitroceramic phase, M preferably being selected from Ca, Ba, Mg or Sr, said vitroceramic phase having a volume percentage of residual vitreous phase lower than 20%.

  • Publication number: 20110176972
Abstract: The invention relates to a structure of the honeycomb type, comprising a porous ceramic material based on aluminum titanate, the thermal expansion coefficient of which between 20 and 1000° C. is less than 2.5×10?6/° C., said structure also having a porosity greater than 10% and a pore size centered between 5 and 60 microns, said structure being characterized in that the composition of the porous ceramic material comprises, by weight, from 30 to 60% of Al2O3, from 30 to 60% of TiO2, from 1 to 20% of SiO2, less than 10% of MgO, less than 0.5% of oxides from the group Na2O, K2O, SrO, CaO, Fe2O3, BaO and rare earth oxides, said structure also being characterized in that it has a permanent linear change on reheating, after heating at 1500° C., of less than ±0.3%. The invention also relates to a catalytic filter or support obtained from such a structure.
