Abstract: Embodiments of the instant disclosure relate to novel compositions and methods for the treatment of retroviruses (e.g., HIV) and the reduction and/or eradication of latent HIV reservoirs. Compositions herein may include biofunctionalized nanocomposites comprised of a core nanoparticle formed of Prussian blue materials, a shell obtained by partially or completely encapsulating the Prussian blue core with at least one biocompatible coating, and at least one biomolecule attached to, or absorbed to, the biocompatible coating and uses thereof.
