  • Publication number: 20210194087
Abstract: A battery assembly for a lighting fixture is provided. The battery assembly includes a battery unit comprising a battery unit housing and a first set of conductive pins. The battery unit housing is configured to accommodate one or more batteries configured to power one or more light sources of the lighting fixture. The first set of conductive pins are in electrical communication with the batteries. The battery assembly includes a battery interface comprising a battery interface housing and a second set of conductive pins. The battery interface housing is configured to accommodate the battery unit housing. The second set of conductive pins are coupled to the light source(s) so that the batteries power the light source(s) when the first set of conductive pins contact the second set of conductive pins. In some implementations, the battery unit can be inserted into the battery interface while the lighting fixture is energized.

  • Patent number: 10985925
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a certificate authority system providing authentication to a plurality of devices associated with an organization are described. The method may include receiving, at the certificate authority system, a request from a device to sign authentication information of the device, wherein the device is associated with the organization. The method may also include sending a challenge to the device to perform an action with a system other than the certificate authority system, and receiving the response to the challenge from the device. Furthermore, the method may include verifying that the response was generated correctly based on the challenge, and signing the authentication information of the device with one or more keys of the certificate authority system as an authentication of an identity of the device.

  • Publication number: 20200259028
Abstract: Methods of making a semiconductor layer from nanocrystals are disclosed. A film of nanocrystals capped with a ligand can be deposited onto a substrate; and the nanocrystals can be irradiated with one or more pulses of light. The pulsed light can be used to substantially remove the ligands from the nanocrystals and leave the nanocrystals unsintered or sintered, thereby providing a semiconductor layer. Layered structures comprising these semiconductor layers with an electrode are also disclosed. Devices comprising such layered structures are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9485968
Abstract: A beehive comprises a main housing, a primary entrance housing that is rotatably attached to the main housing, and a rotation element for rotating the main housing about its rotational axis between vertical and horizontal positions. The main housing includes chambers for holding honey frames and brood frames. The primary entrance housing includes a primary entrance slot that allows ingress and egress of bees into and out of the primary entrance housing. A primary entrance tube connects the main housing to the primary entrance housing. The primary entrance tube provides a path of travel for bees to move between the primary entrance housing and the main housing. In this configuration, the bees may freely move from the exterior of the beehive, through the primary entrance slot into the primary entrance housing, and through the primary entrance tube into the chambers of the main housing.
