Abstract: Bis(1,3-dienyl)dialkyltin, lead, and germanium compounds employed in the aqueous emulsion polymerization of conjugated dienes, optionally with vinyl comonomers, provide polymers with sufficiently high Mooney viscosity values as to be readily handled in plant operations, yet which exhibit controlled breakdown under milling to lower Mooney values suitable, for a variety of uses.

Abstract: Alkali metal or alkaline earth metal terminated rubbery polymers are reacted with monofunctional hydrocarbyl organometal compounds in which the metal is selected from Groups 2b, 4a, and 5a and which contain either halogen, --OR, --SR, or --N(R).sub.2. The resulting rubbery polymers have improved physical properties in gum or filled stocks.

Abstract: Initial depletion of organosulfur molecular weight regulator during initial polymerization conversion in emulsion polymerization systems employing coagitated mixtures of emulsifiers and organosulfur molecular weight regulators is reduced by coagitating in the presence of an additive which is monomer-soluble diluent a portion of polymerizable monomer prior to use of the coagitated admixture in the emulsion polymerization systems.

Abstract: Novel copolymers are produced by polymerizing 2,3-dicyano-substituted 1,3-dienes with at least one monomer copolymerizable therewith selected from conjugated dienes and vinylaromatic compounds. Some of the copolymeric products are elastomeric while others are thermosetting.

The practice golf club comprises a shaft with a handle grip on one end thereof and a club shank or hosel on the opposite end thereof which are substantially identical to the golf club for which the practice club is made to represent and a practice golf club head secured to the hosel, a striking face on one side of the practice golf club head, said striking face being disposed at the same angle and positioned as that of the representative golf club, the shape, area and size of the said practice club striking face being made to closely represent the sweet-spot area of the representative golf club. The weight of the practice club head is substantially equal to the weight of the golf club head.
