  • Patent number: 4852936
Abstract: A bus body and body-to-chassis frame mounting structure is provided wherein the body is vibration isolation supported from the chassis frame and includes a flooring assembly spaced no more than 3" above the chassis frame, and further wherein the flooring assembly has the lower ends of the legs of top bows of the body anchored relative thereto through the utilization of sill panel structure providing not only an inwardly opening channel for receiving the opposite side marginal edge portions of the flooring assembly, outer side seat mounts and body side reenforcement against lateral impact, but which also facilitates multi-area rigid interconnection between the flooring assembly, the top bows and the outer side panels of the bus body. Further, the mounting structure utilized to mount the bus body from the associated chassis frame accomplishes the mounting function through the utilization of simple conventional body-to-frame mounting structure.

  • Patent number: 4530538
Abstract: A tandem axle trailer frame is provided having front and rear ends and an animal enclosure is mounted on the trailer frame. The front end of the frame includes a forwardly projecting towing tongue extending forwardly of the enclosure and the enclosure includes a forward end including opposite side forwardly and oppositely outwardly facing front wall portions having animal ingress openings formed therein. First closure structures removably close the ingress openings and the enclosure includes a rearwardly facing rear wall including an animal egress opening formed therein. Second closure structure removably closes the egress opening. The first closure structures for closing the ingress openings include vertically swingable combined closure door and ramp structures swingable between upstanding closed positions closing the ingress openings and outwardly and downwardly inclined open ramp-defining positions.

  • Patent number: 4328981
Abstract: A sheet metal duct section component including at least one pair of adjacent longitudinally extending integral panel portions relatively angulated about a longitudinal zone connecting adjacent longitudinal marginal portions of said panel portions. At least one pair of corresponding ends of the panel portions include individually bendable flanges extending endwise outwardly therefrom. The flanges are bent relative to and toward corresponding sides of the panel portions into generally coplanar relation and include outer end extremities bent backwardly over the flanges to define double thickness flanges. A filler plate of a thickness at least generally equal to the double thickness flanges and including an outside corner defined by adjacent relatively angulated marginal edges of the filler plate is provided and substantially conforms to the inside corner defined by the adjacent marginal portions of the double thickness flanges.

  • Patent number: 4206715
Abstract: A closure for the upper portion of a rounded vehicle body end is provided for spanning between the upper marginal edge of the rounded body end and the adjacent end of the top of the vehicle body. The closure is constructed including marginal portions coextensive with the upper marginal edge of the rounded end of the body and the adjacent end of the body top and the closure includes a component thereof comprising one-half of an intermediate product constructed by stretch forming sheet metal over a male die.

  • Patent number: 4172167
Abstract: A single generally rectangular panel member is provided including first and second pairs of opposite sides. The panel member defines first peripherally extending generally straight first outer marginal fold zones outwardly beyond and along which corresponding outer marginal portions of the panel member project and extend. The marginal portions are each reversely bent along the first fold zones over the first side of the panel member and each of the marginal portions, spaced outwardly of the corresponding first fold zone, includes successive second and third fold zones, between which corresponding second outer marginal areas of the marginal portions are defined, along which the marginal portions are bent, at generally right angles, toward the second and first sides of the panel member, respectively, first outer areas of the outer marginal portions being defined between corresponding first and second fold zones of the panel member.
