  • Publication number: 20090100563
Abstract: A shin guard includes a plate made of a rigid material sandwiched between two layers of flexible material, such as foam. The two flexible layers are attached to each other around a periphery of at least one of the flexible layers. The plate includes a center panel attached to only one of the flexible material layers. The plate also includes two side panels hingedly attached to the center panel so that the panels can move with respect to the center panel. The panels are not attached to either layer of flexible material so the panels can move with respect to both flexible material layers.

  • Patent number: 5983442
Abstract: An improved carpet extractor is provided having powered brushes for scrubbing cleaning solution on a floor surface and a floor nozzle for extracting soiled cleaning solution from the floor surface in a floor cleaning mode. The extractor may be converted from the floor cleaning mode to an above the floor cleaning mode for cleaning upholstery, stairs, spots on carpet, or the like, with an attached hand held wand having a cleaning solution applicator and an upholstery and stair cleaning nozzle. A pair of motors are provided, one for driving the floor scrubbing brushes when in the floor cleaning mode and one for driving a cleaning solution supply pump and providing pressurized cleaning solution to the wand in the above floor cleaning mode. An automatic conversion mechanism is provided for automatically energizing and de-energizing the motors depending upon the operative position of the handle portion of the extractor.

  • Patent number: 5934340
Abstract: A personal binding machine for assembling a preformed coil into a stack of prepunched sheets which includes a loading tube assembly that properly orients the coil to be driven into the stack of sheets, a drive assembly which drives the coil into the stack of sheets, and crimping assemblies for crimping the ends of the coil once inserted into the sheets. The drive assembly includes a three surface contact system having a coil guide substantially adjacent the edge of the stack of sheets, a drive roller and an idler roller. While the coil guide is stationary within the housing, the location of the drive and idler rollers may be adjusted via a camming system to accommodate various coil sizes. The crimping assemblies include a cradle and blade mechanism wherein the blade presses an end of the coil into a cradle to bend or crimp the end. The drive roller may alternately be directly accessed to manually drive the coil through a stack of sheets.

  • Patent number: 5901408
Abstract: An open top solution supply or recovery tank that is removably mounted on a carpet extractor or wet pickup vacuum cleaner and has a lid that is removably mounted to and seals the top of the tank. A generally U-shaped carry handle is pivotally attached to opposite sides of the tank for carrying the tank. The ends of the carry handle have lid latching member extending therefrom that engage lid retaining members extending from opposite sides of the lid, to securely latch the lid on the tank at least when the carry handle is in a latched position. Tank latch arms are also provided that securely latch the tank to the cleaner when the carry handle is in the latched position. The tank latch arms are pivotally connected to the ends of the handle. Key pins extending from opposite sides of the tank are received in key ways in the latch arms. The key pins control the motion of the latch arms and ensure that the latch arms latch the tank to the cleaner when the handle is pivoted to the latched position.
