  • Patent number: 7065143
Abstract: A DSL modem comprises an additional transformer and additional coils on a coupling transformer to couple a received signal on a transmission line to a receive path without loss due to an active impedance. The ratio of windings on the coils allows gain to be introduced to improve the signal to noise ratio.

  • Patent number: 6546235
Abstract: Generation of a compensation signal for canceling the distortion component of a distorted signal at an affected node, where the distortion component is caused by electro-magnetic coupling from a distortion-causing signal source. The distortion-causing signal is coupled into a distortion cancellation system using capacitive or electro-magnetic coupling techniques, resulting in the generation of an induced voltage. The induced voltage is fed to an impedance network and then to a plurality of cells, one for each of the affected nodes. The compensation signal appearing at the output of the cell is combined with the distorted signal at the corresponding affected node. By appropriately selecting the impedance values of the components in the corresponding cell, substantial cancellation of the distortion from the distortion-causing signal source can be achieved. The system can be simplified if the degree to which the distortion-causing signal source couples into the distorted signal is determined ahead of time.

  • Patent number: 4855164
Abstract: A coating composition contains:(a) a waterborne film-forming polymer; and(b) a stable, liquid nonaqueous polymer microparticle dispersion characterized in that the nonaqueous dispersion, when independently spray applied, is capable of forming discrete, particle agglomerates upon volatilization of its nonaqueous medium, the components (a) and (b) being present in amounts effective to provide that the coating composition is a stable, multiphase composition.

  • Patent number: 4314918
Abstract: Reactive diluents are derived from the reaction of a glycidyl ester and a hydroxyl and/or carboxyl functional compound. The diluents are useful in coating compositions together with crosslinking agents and, optionally, polyols.

  • Patent number: 4252935
Abstract: Esters of glycidyl polyethers of saturated phenols are especially useful in coating compositions having a low organic solvent content. The esters are the reaction products of from about 0.5 to about 1.5 equivalents of a saturated monocarboxylic acid with each epoxy group in a diglycidyl polyether of phenols where the aromatic rings of the phenols are saturated.

  • Patent number: 3939051
Abstract: This invention relates to cationic electrodepositable coating compositions comprising an aminoalkyl monomer, a reaction product comprising a half-blocked diisocyanate and an ethylenically unsaturated hydroxyl-containing monomer. Such compositions can be formulated in such a manner as to provide suitable coatings which when cured have a pleasing appearance, good flexibility, hardness, and resistance to the action of water and chemicals.

  • Patent number: 3933940
Abstract: Block copolymers are prepared by reacting a polyester resin or polyol with a hydroxyl or carboxyl functional mercaptan and subsequently reacting the blocked polyester or polyol in the presence of oxygen, with selected vinyl monomers such as diacetone acrylamide, acrylic acid, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate and the like. Such block copolymers provide for coating compositions having physical properties which render them useful as protective and/or decorative films.
