  • Patent number: 4591655
Abstract: A high-voltage line which includes a conductor supported in a metal encapsulation which is filled with insulating gas and which consists of pipe sections, the ends of which are welded together in a gas-tight manner at specially formed annular mating surfaces. A high-voltage conductor in the interior of the metal encapsulation is supported on partitioning insulators which divide the metal encapsulation into axially spaced cylindrical spaces. Between every two partitioning insulators one or more support insulators are arranged, each of which is located in a distinctly formed annular space. The body of the support insulator is comprised of insulating material having openings in it. The mating surfaces of the two pipe ends are separated by a V-shaped annular gap and are welded together by a welding seam which fills the annular gap. The welding seam has a root which extends annularly and which is electrically in contact with the metallic outer edge of the partitioning insulator or support insulator.

  • Patent number: 4297523
Abstract: A three phase gas pipe cable is disclosed which has at least one gas pipe cable section in which three phase conductors are arranged in a triangular configuration within an enclosing pipe. Each phase conductor is supported by at least one supporting insulator such that the longitudinal axis of each phase conductor is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the enclosing pipe. The supporting insulator is connected by a slide bearing member to the enclosing pipe. The slide bearing member accommodates an insulator foot end of the supporting insulator in such a manner that the supporting insulator is capable of motion in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the enclosing pipe.

  • Patent number: 4296271
Abstract: A gas insulated, high-voltage electric line, as well as a method and apparatus for assembling the high-voltage line, is disclosed. The high-voltage line includes a pipe jacket as well as a conductor centrally arranged within the pipe jacket. A carrier ring encircles the conductor at each of a plurality of stations along a longitudinal axis of the pipe jacket. Each carrier ring carries a plurality of radially directed insulators. Interposed between each insulator and its respective carrier ring is a spring which urges the insulator radially outwardly toward, and into engagement with, the inner surface of the pipe jacket.
