Abstract: A membrane including a top waterproofing layer and optionally a layer of fiber material, wherein the top waterproofing layer includes at least one thermoplastic polymer P, at least one thermochromic pigment TP, and at least one UV-light absorber A. Such membranes are able to change their color as a response to a change in temperature, which enables controlling the amount of heat energy absorbed into the membrane and transmitted to a building structure. Further, a method for producing a membrane and to a method for covering a substrate using the membranes of the invention.
