    Abstract: Systems, mechanisms and methods are disclosed herein for absorbing recoil within a firearm. A first recoil absorption mechanism and second recoil absorption mechanism may be moved relative to each other in response to one or more recoil forces. At a certain point, the second recoil absorption mechanism moves toward and collides with the first recoil absorption mechanism. These forces, which are in part translated to the springs, reduce the amount of recoil experienced by the user of the firearm.
