Abstract: The present invention is directed to a composition comprising an antiperspirant salt suspended in a carrier vehicle thickened with a silicone latex. The composition typically comprises about 50 to 90% carrier vehicle, which is advantageously substantially comprised of a volatile silicone, about 3 to 30% antiperspirant salt, which is typically an aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum-zirconium chlorohydrate, and about 3-25% silicone latex. Preferably the composition will contain an auxiliary thickening agent such as a fumed silica, hydrated silica or trihydroxystearin, typically in an amount of 0.01 to 10%. The composition will preferably have a viscosity of about 12,000 to 20,000,000 cP. The present invention also embraces an apparatus for delivering the above-described composition when formulated with a medium viscosity of about 12,000 to 50,000 cP, said apparatus having a porous dome with a porosity of about 150 .mu.m to 400 .mu.m through which the composition is delivered.

Abstract: A clear gel cosmetic stick is disclosed which includes a liquid vehicle, an antiperspirant salt dissolved in the liquid vehicle, a dibenzylidene alditol, and a co-gellant. The co-gellant is preferably a hydroxyalkyl cellulose and the stick optionally also includes a chelating agent. The cosmetic stick comprises in percent by weight about 70% to about 95%, preferably 75 to 92%, of a liquid vehicle, about 1% to about 22%, preferably 3% to 15%, of an antiperspirant salt dissolved in the vehicle, about 0.5% to about 2% of a dibenzylidene alditol, about 0.1% to about 0.5%, preferably 0.2% to 0.4%, of a hydroxyalkyl cellulose, and optionally about 0.05% to about 3%, preferably 0.1% to 2%, of a chelating agent. Preferably the liquid vehicle comprises a polyhydric alcohol having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms and from 2 to 6 hydroxyl groups and is substantially free of monohydric alcohol and strong alkali such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.

Abstract: A clear gel cosmetic stick includes a liquid vehicle, a dibenzylidene alditol as a gelling agent, an antiperspirant salt dissolved in the liquid vehicle, and a hydroxyalkyl cellulose co-gellant. The cosmetic stick comprises in percent by weight about 70% to about 95%, preferably 75 to 92%, of a liquid vehicle comprising a polyhydric alcohol having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms and from 2 to 6 hydroxyl groups, about 0.5% to about 1.5%, preferably 0.7% to 1.3%, of a dibenzylidene alditol, about 3% to about 22%, preferably 6% to 15%, of an antiperspirant salt dissolved in said vehicle, and about 0.1% to about 0.5%, preferably 0.2% to 0.4%, of a hydroxyalkyl cellulose. Preferably the liquid vehicle is substantially free of monohydric alcohol and is also substantially free of strong alkali such as NaOH and KOH. Preferably the cosmetic stick will have a pH greater than 4.4, more preferably greater than 4.7, a turbidity of less than about 120 NTU, more preferably less than 100 NTU, and a hardness of about 60 to 150.

Abstract: A conditioning shampoo is provided in the form of an aqueous solution having a pH of about 5 to 6 and which includes, in percent by weight of the total composition:(a) about 6 to 20% of at least one anionic surfactant;(b) about 0.1 to about 5% of a dimethicone copolyol having an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide ratio of from about 70/30 to 80/20; and(c) a conditioning component comprising a combination of (i) about 0.1 to 2% guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, (ii) about 0.1 to 2% hydroxypropyl bis-isostearamidopropyldimonium chloride, (iii) about 0.05 to 1.5% of an aluminum salt of a mineral acid, and (iv) about 0.00001 to 0.01% of a fluoroquaternary.

Abstract: An improved hair conditioning composition comprises water, a cationic hair conditioning agent, a nonionic surfactant, a fatty alcohol, and an extremely small but effective amount of a fluorosurfactant, the hair conditioning composition preferably comprising from about 0.5 to 5 percent of the cationic hair conditioning agentm, up to about 5 percent of the nonionic surfactant, from about 0.5 to 10 percent of one or more fatty alcohols, less than 0.05 percent of the fluorosurfactant, and water.
