    Abstract: An adhesive composition suitable for laminating thin foils to substrates, especially paper, is disclosed consisting essentially of an aqueous solution of a carboxylated vinyl acetate copolymer and a compatible, foil adherent, latex adhesive. These adhesives have the unique viscosity, drying, and adhesive properties required of foil laminating adhesives which were previously available only in foil laminating adhesives incorporating a casein thickener.
