  • Publication number: 20080254823
Abstract: A mobile telephone has an integrated TV receiver and a TV antenna connected thereto. The mobile telephone has an E-field antenna for receiving radio signals and an H-field antenna for receiving TV signals. The TV antenna is connected to a low noise amplifier which in turn is connected to a switch. The switch is further connected to the TV receiver which has a channel selector. The channel selector has an outlet for control voltage which is intended to control a tuner unit for tuning the resonance frequency of the TV antenna. The TV antenna has a closed loop of metallic conductive material which is magnetically connected to an inner loop. The inner loop is placed interiorly in and in the same plane as the loop. The inner loop is to have an inscribed area which amounts to approximately 10% of the inscribed area of the outer loop.

  • Publication number: 20050128149
Abstract: An antenna device has at least one antenna element with two radiators disposed on a retainer member. The retainer member may be a separate unit but may also constitute an integral part of a casing for a cell or mobile telephone. In order to provide superior antenna performance and simple impedance adaptation, the radiators are connected in parallel and are designed so that they have a surface extent which is shaped to conform closely with the shape of interior surfaces of the casing. In one embodiment, there is an outer radiator which has a connecting portion which is located physically proximal the antenna element in order thereby to realize a capacitative/inductive connection of the outer radiator to the antenna element.

  • Patent number: 6404392
Abstract: An antenna device for a radio communications apparatus operating in dual frequency bands and having one antenna element (18, 23) for each of the frequency bands. The antenna elements are included in a rod-shaped arrangement and are disposed in line with one another. The antenna element (18) which is intended for the higher frequency band is galvanically coupled to the circuits in the radio communications apparatus and is designed as a rod or bar antenna (18). The antenna element (23) for the lower frequency and is a helix, whose one end portion (24) surrounds an end portion of the rod or bar antenna (18). The antenna elements (18, 23) are capacitatively coupled to one another so that the helix constitutes a capacitative top load to the rod or bar antenna (18).

  • Patent number: 6348900
Abstract: An antenna apparatus for a communication device operating in the frequency range of between 800 and 3000 MHz, comprises at least one radiator (1), which is galvanically connected to one end of a spiral conductor (2). This is, in turn, connected to a transceiver (4). An earthed conductor (6) extends along the extent of the spiral (2) to form a capacitance therewith distributed along the spiral.
