    Abstract: A shifter assembly includes a cover having an opening, a base, and a shift lever extending from the base and through the opening and movable over a shift path. The shift lever is movable over a shift path and moves along the opening as the shift lever moves along the shift path. An absorbent member is located between the opening and the base. The absorbent member includes a material for absorbing liquid passing through the opening. The material for absorbing liquid is preferably sponge material.
