  • Publication number: 20040135018
Abstract: An improved configuration of hammermill is provided in which the feed roller assembly of a horizontal hammermill has an improved safety feature. The feed roller assembly is lifted up to an open position so that the hammermill can be accessed for maintenance. In the open position, the center of gravity of the feed roller assembly is past a pivot point so that the feed roller assembly will fall away from and not toward the hammermill even if hydraulics or safety latches fail.

  • Patent number: 6065606
Abstract: A transportable sorting machine frame formed of first and second frame sections which are hinged together is provided. The sorting machine is mounted to one frame section and an infeed conveyor is mounted to the other. A pair of elevational jacks located adjacent to the hinge assemblies are used to tilt the frame sections upward from a horizontal transport position to an elevated position wherein the sorting machine is angled up for proper operation.

  • Patent number: 5720440
Abstract: A covered rotating drum grinding machine having a frame, engine assembly and hammermill assembly mounted to the frame is provided. Sitting atop of the hammermill assembly is a rotating drum assembly, which is used to agitate and feed material to be ground into the hammermill assembly. A stationary drum assembly, including an infeed opening through which material to be ground is passed, is provided atop the rotating drum assembly to prevent material impacting the hammermill or other grinding device from being propelled out of the enclosed drum space on a ballistic trajectory.
