Abstract: In some embodiments, a head-mounted, near-eye display system comprises a stack of waveguides having integral spacers separating the waveguides. The waveguides may each include diffractive optical elements that are formed simultaneously with the spacers by imprinting. The spacers are disposed on one major surface of each of the waveguides and indentations are provided on an opposite major surface of each of the waveguides. The indentations are sized and positioned to align with the spacers, thereby forming a self-aligned stack of waveguides. Tops of the spacers may be provided with light scattering features, anti-reflective coatings, and/or light absorbing adhesive to prevent light leakage between the waveguides. The information handling system may be configured to perform a maintenance operation involving a plurality of hosts of an information handling system cluster by: determining a score for each host based on a sum of working memory sizes for all active virtual machines executing on such host plus a sum of persistent storage sizes for all virtual machines stored on such host; based on the determined scores, selecting a first host for upgrading; migrating at least a portion of all virtual machines stored on the first host from the first host to one or more other hosts; and causing the first host to perform the maintenance operation.

A system may provide a service associated with a account having an account balance and an associated first interest rate. The system may include a service device having one or more memory devices storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform a separate interest rate service process. The process may include providing a separate interest rate service offer to a client device and receiving a separate interest rate selection from the client device. The process may also include determining a selected portion of the account balance corresponding to an amount to which a second interest rate, different from the first interest rate, is to be applied based on the separate interest rate selection.

Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for genome modification of a target sequence in the genome of a plant or plant cell, without incorporating a selectable transgene marker. The methods and compositions employ a guide polynucleotide/Cas endonuclease system to provide an effective system for modifying or altering target sites within the genome of a plant, plant cell or seed, without incorporating a selectable transgene marker. Once a genomic target site is identified, a variety of methods can be employed to further modify the target sites such that they contain a variety of polynucleotides of interest. Breeding methods and methods for selecting plants utilizing a guide polynucleotide/Cas endonuclease system are also disclosed. Compositions and methods are also provided for editing a nucleotide sequence in the genome of a cell, without incorporating a selectable transgene marker.

Abstract: A field can be generated with a first avatar at a first current position and a second current avatar at a second position. The first avatar can be associated with a first computing device. Similarly, the second avatar can be associated with a second computing device. Inputs on the computing devices can be used to adjust the current positions of the avatars. A distance between the avatars can be determined. If the distance between the avatars is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold, a multi-media conference can be initiated including the first and second computing device.

Abstract: A laser level is provided to generate a laser beam. The laser level has a main body and a removable pedestal. The main body includes a housing, at least one laser generator, a power source and a switch. The pedestal and the main body mount to each other by magnetism, and the pedestal has a spherical or similar slippery upper surface, the main body has a base surface with a corresponding matching shape such that the main body and the pedestal can well inosculate to each other. The main body can be swiveled or moved all around on the pedestal, and laser beams of different angles and directions can be formed thereby.

Abstract: A distance measuring device is provided that measures the distance to an object surface. The distance measuring device includes a housing, a measuring signal projecting and detecting means, a laser indicating device, a display, a circuit, a series of battery cells, a switch and plurality of operation buttons. The measuring signal projecting and detecting means emits a signal to an object surface and detects the reflected signal therefrom. The laser indicating device projects at least one laser beam onto a surface to form at least one visible reference line vertical to the direction in which said measuring signal is emitting. And, the circuit calculates the distance between the laser beam and the object surface.
