The polyamide can have an tertiary amide, ester, acid, or amine terminal end group. The emulsion is stabilized with an alkylene oxide containing emulsion stabilizer. The polyamide resin is stabilized with a resin stabilizer containing an atom with a certain electronegativity. The emulsions of the present invention are substantially transparent and when colorants are added the color is especially bright and clear. The emulsions are used in lipstick and mascara products as well as other gel and stick products.

The compositions comprise, more particularly, at least one structuring polymer and at least one silicone resin. Abstract: Disclosed is an antimicrobial carbon black dispersion which exhibits excellent dispersant properties and also inhibits microbial contamination when used in consumer products such as cosmetic formulations. Also disclosed are methods for producing and using the antimicrobial carbon black dispersion.

The substantially colorless pigment comprises a first group of particles sufficiently small to be substantially transparent to visible light and substantially opaque to ultraviolet B light. The substantially colorless pigment further comprises a second group of particles sufficiently small to be minimally reflective to visible light and substantially opaque to ultraviolet A light. A second group of particles results in minimal visible reflection by the cosmetic composition. A substantially transparent coloring pigment substantially transmits visible light and reflects a substantial portion of incident ultraviolet A light to impart color to tint visible light reflected by the cosmetic composition when they cosmetic composition is disposed over the skin. These materials are maintained in a carrier vehicle.
