  • Publication number: 20110120522
Abstract: Laminates of having a first outer layer of weatherable film, at least one mid layer, and a second outer layer containing an opacifying quantity of white pigment. The laminates are particularly useful for protecting photovoltaic cells, solar panels, and circuit boards. In photovoltaic cells, the laminates result in increased power generation.

  • Publication number: 20110120032
Abstract: The present invention provides a mechanical attachment system for attaching window film to the window frame, such as a batten, profile clamp or other structural device (referred to generally throughout the application as “attachment device”), which attachment device absorbs energy instead of simply transferring energy to the window frames (as is done in traditional devices). The absorption of energy is accomplished by incorporation of a flex area in the attachment device. The flex area bends or flexes when acted upon by blast loads and effectively eliminates the tearing effect (of the film) that all conventional mechanical attachment systems exhibit.

  • Publication number: 20110114148
Abstract: A laminate for electronic devices contains a first outer layer of a layer comprising an organic solvent soluble and/or water dispersible, crosslinkable amorphous fluoropolymers, at least one mid-layer selected from at least one of the group consisting of (i) poly(chlorotrifluoro ethylene); (ii) polymeric film coated on one or both surfaces with liquid crystal polymer; (iii) liquid crystal polymers; (iv) metal foil; and (v) polyester, and a second outer layer wherein the second outer layer comprises pigmented EVA and wherein the second outer layer is substantially opaque to ultraviolet light. The laminate is particularly useful for use as a backing sheet for photovoltaic modules.

  • Patent number: 5670250
Abstract: This invention involves a prepreg composition and procedure for use in forming printed circuit boards with reduced and uniform dielectric constant, improved thermal expansion characteristics, and uniform appearance. The prepreg composite is a resin impregnated substrate and has a reduced dielectric constant as low as 3.5. It contains 5-30% by resin volume of hollow inorganic microsphere filler whose diameters are less than 40 micrometers, and the uniform distribution of the hollow inorganic microspheres is controlled by the presence of hydrophobic fumed silica or other similar flow modifier.
