Abstract: The present invention is a rapidly deployable device for the safe and efficient movement or evacuation of a non-ambulatory person who is positioned upon an underlying mat. The device comprises a support means and associated attachment means which partially or wholly encloses the underside of an underlying mat and attach a plurality of upper straps and an associated securing means which secures the non-ambulatory person to a top surface of the underlying mat. The device has at least one pull means which can be utilized to move the underlying mat by one individual by lifting or sliding.

Abstract: A mattress for cushioning the body of a user that is economical to implement for the prevention, reduction and healing of decubitus ulcers and associated injuries. The mattress of the present invention provides a plurality of support to areas of the body of a user, as critical support areas and utilizes a plurality of voids, as air pouches, in non-critical support areas such as the back the back of the head and shoulders, the tailbone region, arms, elbows, hips, heels and feet, thereby to prevent, reduce and heal decubitus ulcers. In the preferred embodiment, the mattress is comprised wholly of fire-retardant, anti-microbial, variable density foam.
