Publication number: 20230257986Abstract: An overlapping joint coupling system for septic chambers where the end of one chamber is designed to fit over the opposite end of an adjoining chamber of like construction, and where the overlapping end coupling section includes a retention pocket for receiving a flexible snap locking member formed in the underlying end coupling section, and the connection of the end coupling sections forms a joint which enables one chamber to pivot in a horizontal plane relative the other chamber of like construction.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2023Publication date: August 17, 2023Inventors: Brian L. Douglass, Carl R. Douglass

Publication number: 20210015057Abstract: An aeroponic basket system and method of use in is disclosed herein. The aeroponic basket system for use in aeroponic plant growth includes a germination basket having a basket area including at least four sidewalls defining at least four openings, and a base portion, coupled to the at least four sidewalls, the base defining at least one opening, the germination basket comprising compostable material. The germination basket further having an interface lip extending around a periphery of the basket area opposite the base portion, the interface lip configured to interface with an aeroponic plant growth surface, the interface lip comprising a u-shaped channel that extends around a periphery of the basket area, the u-shaped channel oriented toward the base portion. The aeroponic basket system for use in aeroponic plant growth includes an organic germination media configured to be housed within the basket area.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2020Publication date: January 21, 2021Inventors: Brian L. Patent number: 10391695Abstract: A barrel for use in an additive manufacturing machine is disclosed. The barrel includes a sleeve extending along a longitudinal axis. A conduit extends along the longitudinal axis through the sleeve. The conduit is movable relative to the sleeve along the longitudinal axis between a first position and a second position. A nozzle is associated with the conduit. The nozzle is movable with the conduit relative to the sleeve between the first position and the second position.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2015Date of Patent: August 27, 2019Inventors: Brian L. Douglass, Carl R. Douglass, III

Patent number: 9469071Abstract: A fused filament fabrication system and method comprises a motor for moving the system along a linear rail during operation, a drive gear coupled to the motor. The drive gear rotates in the direction of the motor during operation and selectively operatively engages first or second idler gears during operation of the system. The system also comprises first and second filaments for the selective passage of material to corresponding first and second extruders, the first filament is positioned between the first idler gear shaft and idler bearing and the second filament is positioned between the second idler gear shaft and idler bearing.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2014Date of Patent: October 18, 2016Assignee: Douglass Innovations, Inc.Inventors: Brian L. Douglass, Carl R. Douglass, III

Patent number: 8991830Abstract: A heat-fusible gasket for affecting a flexible seal between two adjoining components of a coupling, such as the spigot end of a section of plastic pipe and a bell coupler to be fitted thereover. The gasket has an inner core which is constructed of an elastomeric material, and outer opposing sealing surfaces that are formed at least in part of a heat-fusible material that is compatible with the heat-fusible components with which the gasket is intended to engage. The gasket is co-extruded in continuous lengths with electrically conductive heat resistance wires embedded in the outer compatibly heat-fusible layers. For annular gaskets, the co-extruded lengths of gasket material may be cut and spliced into any desired diameter gasket. Upon connection to a power source, the gasket seal is perfected through electrofusion along the opposing sealing surfaces of the gasket, thereby providing enhanced sealing capability.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2010Date of Patent: March 31, 2015Assignee: Prinsco, Inc.Inventor: Carl R. Douglass, III

Patent number: 8967674Abstract: A rotationally molded large-diameter pipe fitting, the wall structure of which is characterized as having a generally smooth interior surface and an exterior surface that is defined by a plurality of axially-spaced circumferentially extending ribs which are monolithically formed and homogeneous with the smooth interior surface of the fitting. The fitting is seamless and modularly designed with integral coupling elements at each terminal end, and with a ribbed wall structure profile capable of withstanding the loads typically found in buried applications with watertight performance requirements, where such ribbed wall structure meets the following dimensions and dimensional ratios: Rib Sidewall Angle (95-105 degrees); Bottom/Top Rib Thickness Ratio (1.80-2.80); Pitch/Rib Height Ratio (1.50-1.95); Rib Height/Fitting Diameter Ratio (0.04-0.09); and Avg. Rib Thickness/Rib Height Ratio (0.28-0.40).Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2010Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: Prinsco, Inc.Inventors: Carl R. Douglass, III, Joseph D. Larkins
