The connecting strap includes a first attachment site associated with a brace and a second attachment site associated with the sling. The connecting strap is arranged and disposed to cross over the patient's shoulder between the first attachment site and the second attachment site. The surgical restraint is arranged and disposed to restrain the patient's arm against the patient's torso and removed from a surgical site.
