    Abstract: An elevator guide shoe for use with a generally cylindrical guide rail or omega rail is disclosed. The guide shoe includes a front arcuate surface to engage the guide rail and two projections or bosses extending from the back of the shoe to engage a shoe bracket. The back surface of the guide shoe is convex which facilitates movement of the guide shoe relative to the bracket and reduces noise as the guide shoe moves relative to the bracket.
