  • Patent number: 10589322
Abstract: The present invention comprises device (10) which maintains a modified atmospheric pressure within, uses evaporation and condensation by means of heated or cooled fluid jackets and radiators to move and clean washing fluid and fans to increase and decrease the pressure of the gaseous washing fluid in a manner which causes liquid washing fluid to flow laminar within the extraction chamber. The present invention comprises a modular extraction chamber (42) which when fitted to the device (10) is in permanent communication with a boiling chamber (27) and a condensation chamber (33). These chambers are intermittently in communication with an evaporation chamber (12) and a corresponding clean solvent holding chamber (20). The evaporation chamber and the clean solvent holding tank may, upon completion of the extraction cycle sequester the pressurized washing fluid while the rest of the system is depressurized allowing for quick changeover of source material.

  • Patent number: 5079645
Abstract: A solar powered ornamental light pattern producing device which produces visually pleasing patterns of light, composed of a housing, a pair of photo-voltaic devices connected with the housing, a shaft rotatably connected with the housing and rotated by the photo-voltaic devices, a pedestal connected with a distal end of the shaft, a flat mirror located on the pedestal, and a multi-faceted crystal which is located upon the flat mirror. When sunlight strikes the solar cells of the photo-voltaic devices a mechanical linkage with the photo-voltaic devices causes the shaft to rotate. As the shaft rotates, the various facets of the crystal are rotated, causing sunlight reflected off the mirror and interacting with the crystal, and sunlight directly interacting with the crystal, to be refracted and reflected into a whole host of pleasing patterns and colors.

  • Patent number: 5051363
Abstract: The cytotoxicity of DNA reactive cross-linking agents can be modified or reversed by exposing cells exposed to such agents to specific endocytotically absorbed materials. These materials should be capable of interfering with the cross-linking of the DNA. For example, electrophillic materials such as serum proteins, are useful for this purpose.

  • Patent number: 4750496
Abstract: A non-invasive method for measuring blood glucose concentration using glucose present at the mucosal surface of a living being is provided. The method includes the steps of positioning a glucose oxidase membrane on the mucosal surface, providing oxygen for peroxidative oxidation of the glucose present thereat, electrically measuring the amount of hydrogen peroxide product and calibrating that amount to determine blood glucose concentration. Also provided are electrode devices suitable for carrying out the method.
