  • Patent number: 5699507
Abstract: A method of analyzing a plurality of code segments to determine the similar static and dynamic features of the code segments compares the static and dynamic features of each of the code segments. Each code segment is comprised of one or more lines of program instructions. One or more predetermined static attributes are extracted from each code segment. Each code segment is then run so that the dynamic attributes of the code segment can be determined. The dynamic attributes are extracted from each code segment and a distance function is computed which is based on the extracted static and dynamic attributes for a given pair of code segments. The distance function produces a distance measurement which indicates the relative degree of similarity between the given pair of code segments.

  • Patent number: 5673255
Abstract: An unbundling apparatus to permit competitive access providers access to telephone lines connected to a remote terminal, and the ability to control and test such lines. Such unbundling apparatus includes a switch fabric, a command module, and a testing module. The switch fabric provides all voice channel connections between all switches and the remote terminal and grooms the control channels. Control messages are switched into the command module, which performs any protocol translations necessary. All commands from switches are then multiplexed and sent back to the switch fabric, which routes them to the original command channel to the remote terminal. Control messages from the remote terminal are demultiplexed, translated (if necessary) and sent to the switch fabric for delivery to the appropriate switch. Testing of lines is also provided to all competitive service providers.

  • Patent number: 5636843
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for adding side or prop wagers to betting games, particularly the games of Blackjack and Poker. A Blackjack table is disclosed which comprises betting spots each of which comprises indicia describing a side or prop bet combination and odds offered for a wager against the combination. A video Blackjack machine is disclosed which is played with and without side or prop bets. A special Blackjack side or prop bet entry keyboard is disclosed. A video Poker machine is disclosed which is also played with and without prop bets. A special Poker side or prop bet entry keyboard is disclosed. The Poker keyboard is a subset of the Blackjack keyboard permitting Poker to be played with and without side or prop bets on the video Blackjack machine.

  • Patent number: 4058473
Abstract: Low temperature stable compositions are disclosed containing potassium tallowate and a combination of secondary ethoxylated alcohols containing (a) a blend of C.sub.11-15 secondary alcohols with an average of 9 moles of ethylene oxide and (b) a blend of C.sub.11-15 secondary alcohols with an average of 3 moles of ethylene oxide. These compositions stay liquid at 50.degree. F and once frozen can be completely thawed by being placed at 50.degree. F for a specified period of time. The temperature at which these compounds freeze is about 35.degree. F.

  • Patent number: 4039899
Abstract: A circuit to correct for pincushion distortion and defocusing in a cathode-ray tube having electromagnetic deflection systems is disclosed. The circuit, which may be realized in monolithic integrated-circuit form, performs a mathematical function to predistort the deflection signal for each axis by the amount necessary to provide an undistorted display. The circuit also provides a signal to correct for the defocusing that occurs at the edges of the screen. The circuit may be readily adapted for use with cathode-ray tubes having different diagonal deflection angles, and with either flat of curved faceplates, by changing the values of two resistors.
