  • Patent number: 5046650
Abstract: A boot collar adapted to be attached to the end of a boot. The collar is generally U-shaped having an internal rib adapted to engage the land of the boot. In one embodiment, the collar has a boot removal arm with a first end pivotally mounted to the boot collar. The removal arm is normally biased in a stowed position and movable to a operable position. When in the second position, the removal arm provides a cantilever upon which force can be exerted to assist in removing the footwear from the foot. When in its normally biased stowed position it is disposed where it does not interfere with the wearing of the boot. In another embodiment, a mounting post having a rotatable spur is attached to the collar.

  • Patent number: 4507662
Abstract: A scannable antenna having a radiating array of antenna elements correspondingly coupled, through equal line lengths, to a more closely spaced array of antenna elements positioned in a space coupling region. A feed array of antenna elements, with spacings substantially equal to the spacing in the radiating array and substantially of the same physical size as the more closely spaced array, is positioned in the space coupling region in close proximity, no more than a wave length away, to the more closely spaced array. The feed array is coupled to a distribution network which provides desired phase and amplitude aperture distributions.

  • Patent number: 4491845
Abstract: An antenna assembly configured by the combination of the high forward gain of a conventional planar phased array antenna with the wide angle scanning capability of a dome antenna. The invention includes an optically fed phased array, which may be structurally configured similar to a conventional lens array, but comprises a reflection/transmission switch and an electronic phase shifter at each radiating element. The switches facilitate operation of the phased array in two distinct modes; when the switches are set for the transmission mode, the phased array operates substantially as a conventional lens array to scan a .+-.60.degree. conical sector; when the switches are set for the reflection mode, the phased array behaves like a reflect array to scan an additional .+-.60.degree. to .+-.120.degree. sector.

  • Patent number: 4451831
Abstract: An apparatus and method for scanning a circular array through 360.degree. with tapered aperture illumination function to achieve radiated beams with desired sidelobe levels. A switching matrix selects a predetermined number of active elements from the total number of elements disposed about the circle to form a sub-array. To this sub-array a variable amplitude distribution network is coupled to establish excitations at each active element in accordance with a desired amplitude distribution function.
