  • Patent number: 11013986
Abstract: The invention provides an improved controller (10) for a games console. The invention is a games controller (10) that is intended to be held by a user in both hands in the same manner as a conventional controller (1). Additionally, the controller of the invention (10) may comprise the same controls (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) as a conventional controller (1). The controller of the present invention (10) is advantageous as it additionally comprises four additional controls (11 A, 11 B, 11 C, 11 D) located on the rear of the controller (10) in a position to be operated by the middle fingers of a user (12). The additional controllers (11 A, 11 B, 11 C, 11 D) may be paddle levers comprising an attachment mechanism which does not require any tools for the attachment of the paddle levers to the controller (10) or the removal of the paddle levers from the controller (10).

  • Patent number: 10967252
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a games controller for controlling electronic games, input device for a computer program and a trigger mechanism therefor. The trigger mechanism comprises a trigger body having a plurality of walls defining an internal chamber. The plurality of walls include a base wall and an orifice defined in the base wall. A detent is detachably mounted on the trigger body. The detent is at least partially received in the orifice and the detent is rotatable with respect to the trigger body. The detent comprises at least one abutment surface which is eccentrically arranged with respect to the rotational axis of the detent.

  • Patent number: 10350490
Abstract: The invention provides a controller and an actuator for mounting to a controller, enables a user with access to a plurality (two or more) of control functions from a single actuator. In particular, the present disclosure provides an actuator which in normal use is hidden from view for example, but not limited to, by being mounted to the rear of a controller. It is therefore desirable that the actuator can be readily found by touch and that the user can readily find a desired control function. The actuator comprises a plurality of distinct or distinguishable degrees of freedom of movement, when mounted to the controller, the actuator requires specific actuation gestures, manipulations or actions to activate a desired one of a plurality of control functions associated with the actuator.
