  • Publication number: 20240371031
Abstract: Systems and methods for configuring and training neural networks for visual processing tasks, specifically focusing on higher-order feature selectivity with techniques to preconfigure higher-order features into convolutional neural networks (CNNs). The method involves configuring an artificial neural network to be selective to contours comprising curved sections and straight or nearly straight sections. This includes creating a topographically organized layer of orientation-selective neurons that collectively detect multiple orientations in an image patch. Additionally, layers of neurons selective for curve segments and approximately straight contours are created, where the selection is based on inputs from previous layers. The method further extends to creating neurons selective for curves with specified curvature, orientation, and center.

  • Patent number: 10846592
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for configuring and training neural networks. The method includes models of individual neurons in a network that avoid certain biologically impossible or implausible features of conventional artificial neural networks. Exemplary networks may use patterns of local connections between excitatory and inhibitory neurons to provide desirable computational properties. A network configured in this manner is shown to solve a digit classification problem.

  • Patent number: 10701034
Abstract: A method of intelligently sorting packets/datagrams for sending through appropriate branches of a N-way split VPN tunnel according to embodiments of the present invention allow for efficient movement of network traffic to and from a remote network location. Intelligent sorting may be based on a wide range of criteria in order to implement different policies. For example, datagrams may be sorted for sending through the branches of a 3-way split tunnel so that all traffic from a remote network location ultimately destined to servers at a central location may be sent via a secure VPN tunnel, all traffic that matches a “white-list” of trusted external sites may be sent directly to and from these sites to the remote network location, and all other traffic may be redirected through a Web service that scrubs and filters the traffic to/from questionable sites.

  • Publication number: 20190360561
Abstract: A tailgate adjuster in a preferred example comprises an adjustably locking rotatable bracket comprising a plurality of rotatably linked shank components, with at least one shank component joined to a sprocket component having a plurality of sprocket teeth, and at least one other shank component joined to a rotatable trigger component having a sprocket-engaging trigger tooth. The trigger component is preferably spring biased to maintain the trigger tooth in an engaged position with the sprocket teeth, and can be adjusted to disengage the trigger component from the sprocket teeth. The sprocket teeth are spaced to permit the locking of shank components at a desired angle to each other. Holes at each end of the tailgate adjuster permit the rotatable mounting of one such end to a vehicle tailgate or hatchback and the other end to a fixed location of the vehicle.
