  • Patent number: 9363675
Abstract: A low-cost security management system for a wireless network utilizes client software having one component that runs on trusted access points and another that runs on wireless client cards on a client PC and/or laptop that enables an administrator to log in and check the status of network security from any client pc. The software monitors the state of the wireless network and reports on unauthorized connections or hacking attack, denial of service attack and potential threats to the security of the network.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 2006
Date of Patent: June 7, 2016
    Assignee: CISCO TECHNOLOGY, INC.

  • Patent number: 7110052
Abstract: A reconfigurable backlighting construction for use in portable computer-based systems having direct and projection viewing modes of operation is provided. These computer-based systems are capable of selectively displaying color video images on an actively driven display surface, or projecting such video images onto a wall surface or projection screen without the need for a bulky overhead projector, required by all prior art systems. These computer-based systems can be easily reconfigured for projection viewing without physical removal of the light guiding panel and its light diffusing structures. A portable light projection accessory device is also provided for use with the portable computer-based systems of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20050007514
Abstract: A reconfigurable backlighting construction for use in portable computer-based systems having direct and projection viewing modes of operation. In the illustrative embodiments of the present invention, the backlighting construction is integrated with a LCD display panel, a micropolarization panel, and a touch-screen writing panel to provide several different types of portable computer-based systems including, for example, a portable notebook computer, a computer-driven image display device, and a portable pen-computing device. In general, each of these computer-based systems are capable of selectively displaying color video images on an actively driven display surface, or projecting such video images onto a wall surface or projection screen without the need for a bulky overhead projector, required by all prior art systems. These computer-based systems can be easily reconfigured for projection viewing without physical removal of the light guiding panel and its light diffusing structures.

  • Publication number: 20030076603
Abstract: The present disclosure addresses the problem of attaching and adjusting 3D stereoscopic enabling devices by providing a means and apparatus to attach and align the SEDs in a simple straightforward manner. Several mounting options are available that fall into two main categories including spring-clip and screw-clip mounting systems. Any of the major stereoscopic enabling devices including but not limited to VRex Micropol, lenticular array, microlens array, parallax barrier, holographic array may be mounted to a flat panel display (using various display technologies including LCD, plasma, OLED, etc.) or notebook computer display using one of these two mounting system types. Once initial mounting of the stereoscopic enabling device has been achieved, a means for proper alignment for optimal 3D stereoscopic viewing is provided using an appropriate test image depending on the stereoscopic enabling device that is used.

  • Publication number: 20020122145
Abstract: The preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a method of reducing flicker in a stereoscopic display system having LC shutter glasses and a display device, the glasses, having two LC shutter assemblies each having a first polarizing element nearer the eye, a second polarizing element nearer the display and an active rotator between the two polarizing elements. The method of reducing flicker comprises removing the second polarizing material from each LC shutter assembly and installing a third polarizing material in the optical path between said LC shutter glasses and said display device. The third polarizing material has a polarizing characteristics substantially identical to that of said second polarizing material. The display device is a CRT display, a front view projection system or a rear projection display screen wherein the third polarizing material is mounted on the rear projection screen between the projected image and the LC shutter glasses.
