  • Patent number: 5683065
Abstract: Suspended seating apparatus comprising a chair supporting structure with an extensible cantilever arm and adjustable base structure for balancing the cantilever effect and also for accommodating one or a pair of suspended seating arrangements.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 26, 1996
Date of Patent: November 4, 1997
    Assignee: Seating Innovations L.L.C.
    Inventor: Carling D. Allen
  • Patent number: 5647636
Abstract: Suspended seating construction comprising a chair supporting device having L-shaped structure constructed for selected mounting to the wall and associated cabinetry; a mount to the cabinetry supports both the swing arm accommodating the suspended seating and additionally precludes failure of wall mount structure incorporated in the device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 12, 1995
Date of Patent: July 15, 1997
    Assignee: Seating Innovations L.L.C.
    Inventor: Carling D. Allen
  • Patent number: 5352014
Abstract: A table construction suitable for fabrication in elemental forms preparatory to break-down shipment and on-site assembly, when desired, and including suspended seating construction; the support structure of the table top incorporating the suspended seating takes the form of a hub and spoke construction of telescoping nature, the hub generally comprising a cross and the spokes telescoping therewith being provided with elements for attaching the support structure to the underside of the table top preparatory for table erection.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 16, 1993
Date of Patent: October 4, 1994
    Inventor: Carling D. Allen
  • Patent number: 4046211
Abstract: A balance suspension system for three-wheel vehicles wherein such system is applicable in particular to the oppositely-reciprocating related wheels of the vehicle. The system is designed such that the vehicle tends to maintain an essentially horizontal position, relative to its transverse axis, even though wheels may pass over bumps or dips or the vehicle itself may be traversing sloping terrain. Structure is provided such that a vertical movement in one of the oppositely-reciprocating wheels is offset by an opposite movement in the remaining wheel whereby the transverse axis of the vehicle is essentially maintained on a horizontal axis. Such precludes the vehicle from dipping or spilling. Further provision is made so that, as the vehicle is cornering, the transverse orientation of the vehicle dips inwardly, tending to oppose centrifugal force and thereby maintain the integrity of vehicle travel. Power balancing is also supplied.
    Type: Grant
