  • Patent number: 6510657
Abstract: A vehicle door module adapted to support mechanisms such as a window raiser (12) and to be applied in a sealed manner on the surround of two inner openings (7,9) of a box structure of the door includes two distinct panels (3,4) interconnected by a rigid structure (5,6). Each panel is adapted to support components (13,19) of the mechanisms and to be applied in a sealed manner on a respective one of the openings (7,8) of the box structure (9), which has a contour complementary to the contour of the each panel. The window raiser (12) may be of the “double lift” type having two guide rails (13,14) each mounted on a respective panel (3,4). This division into two parts (3,4) reduces the amount of plastics material required and reduces the manufacturing cost of the module (1) while a rigid structure (11) between the two openings (7,8) of the door increases the rigidity of the latter.

  • Patent number: 5780957
Abstract: A piezoelectric moving linear motor consists of three piezoelectric actuators which are controlled relative to each other. One piezoelectric actuators causes two blocks to move away from each other in opposition to a spring force. The other two piezoelectric actuators selectively clamp a block to a guide shaft. By cyclically controlling the actuation of the three piezoelectric actuators, the motor is able to move the blocks axially along the guide shaft. Preferably, a vehicle component such as a window is fixed to one block and is caused to move along the guide shaft.

  • Patent number: 5780956
Abstract: A piezoelectric drive to provide a rotary force to a rotating element includes a pair of circumferentially spaced fingers. The fingers are selectively moved towards and away from the rotating element with piezoelectric actuators that expand and contract. An intermediate piezoelectric actuator moves the two fingers away from each other or allows them to be moved towards each other. A bias force acts in opposition to the intermediate piezoelectric actuator. By controlling the three piezoelectric actuators, the system rotates the rotating element. The system is preferably utilized for driving a vehicle component, and most preferably, a window for a vehicle. The inventive motor provides a low cost compact motor for driving vehicle components.

  • Patent number: 4986030
Abstract: A device which includes two matching sections (7, 8), with a first section (7) designed to be fastened to the bottom of a window (6) and the second section (8) arranged to be articulated on an arm (3) of a window raiser. The cross-sections of these sections are such that the first section (7) can be locked into the second section (8) by snapping and a result of a displacement lying substantially in the general plane of the window (6) and of the movement of the latter. The matching cross-sections of the two sections (7, 8) provide a degree of rotation and a degree of translational motion between the two sections. This device makes it possible to carry out the installation of windows on window raisers automatically by robot on motor-vehicle assembly lines because of the simplification of the necessary movements.

  • Patent number: 4898413
Abstract: A knob (3) capable of pivoting an actuating lever (4) of a latch and articulated to a case (1) which is open toward the exterior and capable of receiving the knob (3). The latter is laterally articulated to pivot, on one hand, about two pins (16, 17) fixed to the case (1) and, on the other hand, about two movable pins (14, 15) integral with the knob. All of the pins are within the case (1). Each pin (16, 17) fixed to the case is connected by a link (9, 11; 12, 13) to a movable pin (14, 15) and all the pins (14 to 17) are so positioned that straight lines (D1, D2) each passing through a fixed pin (16, 17) and through a movable pin (14, 15) interconnected by the same link intersect outside the case. This articulated mechanism permits mounting on the door the unit comprising the case (1) and the knob (3) by a simple succession of horizontal movements of translation which may also be effected by a robot of very simple design.
