  • Patent number: 5229442
Abstract: Stabilizing compositions for organic polymers, composed of mixtures of at least one liquid phenolic antioxidant and at least one aminic antioxidant, subjected to thermal treatment, are characterized by their stabilizing capacity which is considerably higher than that of either single components or of corresponding untreated mixtures. These stabilizing compositions can be used in all field where the single components of the mixtures are generally used and, preferably, in the stabilization of organic polymers normally subject to deterioration due to oxidation processes.

  • Patent number: 4977259
Abstract: Reactive stabilizing compounds, able to stabilize organic polymers, contain in their molecule a sterically hindered amino group and a hydrolyzable silyl function. In stabilizing organic polymers, said reactive stabilizing compounds can be hydrolyzed at the silyl function with the formation of silanol groups, which are made to interact in order to form complex resinous stabilizing structures. These latter are added in stabilizing quantities to the polymer to be stabilized. According to one particular embodiment, the hydrolysis at the silyl function and the formation of the resinous structure take place spontaneously within the polymer to be stabilized. According to a further embodiment, the reactive stabilizing compound is added to the polymer after being stably supported on a solid support by reaction with an inorganic solid having surface hydroxyl groups.

  • Patent number: 4797451
Abstract: Solid polymeric stabilizer compounds are disclosed comprising an organic polymeric matrix, to which are linked groups containing a sterically hindered aminic function, the organic polymeric matrix being a polymeric matrix of a vinyl-aromatic, aromatic with heteroatoms, dienic or olefinic polymer, containing hydrogen atoms replaceable by metal atoms, the groups containing the sterically hindered aminic function replacing, at least partially, said replaceable-by-metal hydrogen atoms of the matrix. Also disclosed are processes for the preparation of said solid polymeric stabilizers and stabilized polymeric compositions comprising an organic polymer and a stabilizing amount of said solid polymeric stabilizers.
