    Abstract: A method is provided for using consolidated approaches for validating the identity of a user. A request is received to match the user's identity to previously enrolled particulars of the user. After determining that the user's identity has not yet been validated, at least one identity proofing solution is provided as an alternative to self-validation of the user's identity for the request. The identity proofing solution provider is queried to confirm the user's identity by providing the requested identity and an authentication token received from the user. On receipt of a confirmation, the user's identity is validated to the requestor. A corresponding system is also provided.
